You will have the choice to get it strung or unstrung. Wilson synthetic gut 16 gauge is the free option.

The Ultra is stiffer, more powerful. More popular with beginner to intermediate. The Speed is more maneuverable with more feel, more popular with intermediate to advanced players.

The most common male grip size is a 3, and the most common female grip size is a 2. This racquet is a 4. I would guess most people considering that already know this, but maybe not.

you'd need quite large hands to hold a 4 comfortably

Yeah, I just hoped to make that clear so some person doesn't think this is the normal size they feel at most retailers.

This is a stiff frame but it's surprisingly plays comfortable imo. I own the 108 a Ultra V3 with added lead tape to the head and some putty in the handle. It weighs 326 grams and is the most comfortable oversize racket I've owned. I'm a former collegiate level player btw. The 100 version feels similar but slightly more flexible.

I play tennis…I do not play with the Wilson Ultra V3 but I have heard that it is very stiff racket, may not be the best for beginners. Also 4 1/2 grip size is big, standard they use 4 3/8 thats too big for me lol.

Only you can answer that, personally I'd buy it if I wanted an Ultra V3 since I don't care about the paint job. If you care about it and still want an Ultra V3, I think you could find one with a normal paint job for $100-120.

Grip size comfort definitely depends on the person. Personally I use a 1/2 with an overgrip, others with similar hand size prefer a 3/8.
