Touch is a gimmick for 99% of users.
I use touch all the time for scrolling. It sure beats scrolling on any kind of trackpad

My wife and I both got previous generation 16" LG Gram laptops. Mine is the touch version and hers is the non-touch. I use touch often, especially when on a plane and I have the laptop folder over into "tent" mode. Also for scrolling long documents and magnifying whatever is onscreen. My wife can live without the touchscreen but oftentimes finds herself touching the screen to select something only to remember that she can't. The weight and power usage difference is minimal. Touchscreen is a key spec for me.

Great price. Wish there was a deal for 14 inch unit as well since 17 is too large to put in any backpack.

Definitely NOT gimmick. Is it personal? Yeah but can assure you it's more than 1%. Moreover, just because touch isn't used everyday, it's a killer feature when needed.

17" also has a touch model. issue is if its worth the price diff. under $75 extra, MAYBE. anything more, meh, dont want to pay anymore to make my screen dirtier.

It looks like Costco item 1766591 comes up on Nov 24 for $999.99. It looks the same but with a 1.0TB SSD and touchscreen.

Costco item 1772618 comes up on Nov 20 for $1399. It ups it to 32 GB RAM and 2TB SSD plus EVO graphics. This is again 40% more.

I have to think whether it is worth it to get double the RAM and SSD, and I don't play games or edit photos, so I don't think I need better graphics.

Yeah that is what I am trying to decide too. Also the acer swift 16" for $900 looks to be a good deal too. OLED 4k screen.

I have a previous LG Gram 17 from Costco sales, it's a great laptop, very light but offers a bigger screen so I can see well. LG's warranty service is also excellent. My kid messed up the keyboard and they changed for me no question asked - during Covid challenging times. I highly recommended LG Gram 17 if anyone needs light but bigger screen. The performance is also very good. I upgraded to 40GB RAM and it's super fast doing everything. This version's RAM may not be upgradable so it may be best to get the 32GB version.

My local warehouse had these in stock, so i bought one to avoid the shipping fee. The great thing about Costco is that i can safely try it out for 90 days

Decided to bite on this deal. My family has 3 LG Grams, so this will be our 4th. MIL-STD 810H durability is what I love so much about the Grams.

Tried this out in store, everything was great except the screen shook/bounced too much while typing. Would be a major distraction to me if I had to use the thing on a daily basis.
