I'd also point out that I am not pushing a recommendation for the Logitech speakers. The Z333 is just a much better value of similar build quality to these Bose units that took less than 10 seconds to look up. It would trounce the Bose in performance. With the Bose, the fundamental of an E-string on a bass guitar would be nearly inaudible. With the Z333, you'd at least have the choice of hearing lower frequencies if you wanted to.
If I just wanted small stereo towers, I'd shell out for some cheap active studio monitors (e.g. Edifier MR4s). For $70, Bose people end up with 4.5W max ouput speakers with a 2" paper or polypropylene driver in a plstic case. The Edifier route route would end up with a 1" silk dome tweeter and a 4" mica-composite woofer in an MDF box. One can decide what the difference is worth, but it's a no brainer to me.
And for the stereo naysayers, i was tired of my 5.1 PC setup taking up so much space around the room. The sub's footprint and volume alone was larger than my PC case. I also realized i mainly use my headset and the speakers were mainly for music when i wasn't gaming.
A speaker rated at 90dB sensitivity will produce 90dB at 1 meter off a single watt of power. That's already ear damaging levels. I would not suggest worrying much about wattage. I'd rather consider how the speaker system performs.
From a performance standpoint, these will get plenty loud. Bose really doesn't like to admit what their components or stats are as they are often not competitive at the price range. This is Bose's answer to your quesiton:
"Thanks for the question. Some specifications such as speaker wattage are not published for our products. The reason these specifications are not published is that we do not feel they give an accurate representation of how the product will sound in a real application. That being said, the maximum power consumption for this product is 4.5 W."

I will say wearing headphones/earbuds I often turn the dial on the speakers thinking they will change the sound on my headset tho

I have a logitech z series 5.1 which I use only because I got it dirt cheap on clearance. It's good but if I were to buy new speakers I'd go for the klipsch 2.1. They are by far the best bang for your buck pc speakers imo. Completely blow these bose out of the water.
