I have this. It's hot garbage. No power at all, it stops rotating at the slightest amount of pressure

$15 shipping makes it less of a good deal. Still debating though…

Only Milwaukee m18 and Dewalt are worth getting if you into detailing. This and Kobalt maybe for waxing at best.

Did you own it? I'm not seeing that complaint on the home depot website. A bunch of broken tool 1 star ratings but not that.
What do you think "I have this" means?

I have it and can confirm this as well. It stalls constantly without any pressure, even at its highest speeds. Applying sealant or waxes is about its only real use. Skip it for paint correction, it will frustrate you to no end.
That's weird. No mention of this on Amazon reviews either. I guess I will have to just find out for myself haha

"Random Orbital DA polishers only drive the orbital movement of the backing plate and pad. The rotation of the pad is a secondary movement, which is created by the inertia of the orbiting pad."

"It is not necessary for a pad to rotate to generate the friction needed to remove paint defects or create a level surface, although it does offer a greater benefit with a larger, less efficient pad."

Grabbed one when it came out because I'm already in the ecosystem. It ran extra hot at the head and not useful for paint correction (agree w/ CrunkieBrewster). Returned it after one use, don't recommend it at all. If you need a cordless, go w/ the Milwaukee. I ended up getting a 5" counterweight for my Porter Cable.

I would recommend looking into some YouTube reviews. I've been on the fence of getting this because of the reviews on YouTube.

I don't get it. Where are you people choosing to detail your cars, that you don't have access to a 120v outlet?

With a DA polisher, I think you'd have to try really, really hard to mess it up - even with an aggressive pad and compound. With just a polishing pad and polish, I don't think you need to worry at all.

I like Meguiar's M66 all-in-one, but I'm always in a hurry.

YMMV
