Amazon has a 20% coupon on some of their audio equipment which includes the KEF LS50 Wireless II in Crimson Red which is already on sale for $1999.99. After applying the coupon, it comes down to $1,599.99. If you have the amazon prime card, you can get an extra 5% cash back.

I'm pretty sure this is a steal for amazing speakers.

Thanks for the info, I'm debating now about that color
I know.
I have the blue Meta Passives and would like to sell them and buy these actives for $1600 but the glossy red is a bit much for me.
I do the the red accents on the Titanium but now $1800(with the 10%) seems like to much since these are $1600.
hmmm.
Accessories4less does have refubs for $1600 currently in titanium.

its odd I only see 10% for the reds as well as the grey. I have grey metas and matching stands so id pay the extra for the gray anyway, but still odd.

I have 10% for white and grey. Wish the red would pop up for 20% off!

Going to ask what's probably an incredibly stupid question to some…are these (and other KEF speakers) worth their price? I know sound quality is subjective, blah blah blah. But are these THAT much better than speakers that are half the price?

For pretty much every consumer item made, you'll get diminishing returns that become more severe the more you spend. You have to decide if the $ is worth it. If you're a hobbyist and the money isn't a big deal, then go for it.

If you can find a place that sells Kef, I'd suggest giving a listen. Obviously there's a difference between models but generally speaking, every manufacturer has a "house" sound. For me their presentation is a bit too bright for my tastes.

The value here is the included electronics.

I only have a 5% coupon for the gray speakers. Does anyone know how Amazon determines who gets the coupons? I realize it's probably some algorithm but I'm curious what triggers these coupons deals for some customer and not others.

I do buy a ton of stuff from Amazon, so maybe they reserve these coupons for customers who don't buy as much stuff as a sales incentive? It's probably more complicated than that, but I'm puzzled.

Why do you want to switch to wireless? For me personally I'd keep the passives. Amps and DAC are more prone to have problems than passive speakers so if something goes wrong with one of them then will need to get the whole thing fixed and iirc the KEF wireless don't have a very good record past warranty period. Wireless saves a lot of space though

All true and good points for many readers here.
I did ultimately hold off for now. Though mainly due to really needing to sell some gear before I let myself buy anything.
The way my set-up is tuned, I get a lot out of the passives, and actually don't expect better sound from the actives. The reason to switch for me is for ease of use as reference to other speakers and since active a 'fixed' reference at that.(nobody asking which amp or dac or was used to get the sound I have) Plus it is a consumer product vs other options for my use case like the Neumann KH120II or the JBL 705p.
(I do a lot of testing and designing that I may ultimately use for something beyond hobby)
Plus KEF looks cool in the living room and in images.

@$2800 I would not be interested and why I did pick passive last year. (Plus I got a crazy at the time deal for $1100or$1200 new when full price was the normal)anyway.
Now for $1600 active, yah might be right for me, but I do agree with your comment and so many buyers should factor that in.
Sending them into KEF for warranty service is pricey and after warranty very, very pricey.

I bought them full price when they were released, and I just love every aspect of them. At $1600, there's just no question about it.
