I have the blue Meta Passives and would like to sell them and buy these actives for $1600 but the glossy red is a bit much for me.
I do the the red accents on the Titanium but now $1800(with the 10%) seems like to much since these are $1600.
hmmm.
Accessories4less does have refubs for $1600 currently in titanium.
If you can find a place that sells Kef, I'd suggest giving a listen. Obviously there's a difference between models but generally speaking, every manufacturer has a "house" sound. For me their presentation is a bit too bright for my tastes.

I do buy a ton of stuff from Amazon, so maybe they reserve these coupons for customers who don't buy as much stuff as a sales incentive? It's probably more complicated than that, but I'm puzzled.

I did ultimately hold off for now. Though mainly due to really needing to sell some gear before I let myself buy anything.
The way my set-up is tuned, I get a lot out of the passives, and actually don't expect better sound from the actives. The reason to switch for me is for ease of use as reference to other speakers and since active a 'fixed' reference at that.(nobody asking which amp or dac or was used to get the sound I have) Plus it is a consumer product vs other options for my use case like the Neumann KH120II or the JBL 705p.
(I do a lot of testing and designing that I may ultimately use for something beyond hobby)
Plus KEF looks cool in the living room and in images.
@$2800 I would not be interested and why I did pick passive last year. (Plus I got a crazy at the time deal for $1100or$1200 new when full price was the normal)anyway.
Now for $1600 active, yah might be right for me, but I do agree with your comment and so many buyers should factor that in.
Sending them into KEF for warranty service is pricey and after warranty very, very pricey.
