I worked as a stage hand for 20 years. That chair survived more outdoor festivals/concerts than you will ever take it to. I still have it and use it. Nothing broken on it. Very comfortable.
No chair like that is drunk idiot proof.
Yes of course it's heavier. Those are metal arm rests on it. They weight more and compress less than a piece of fabric lol. It's also one of the things I like most about it. That and the high back allows for more comfortable naps which helps on those 18 hour days.
Of course they might have gotten cheap over the years but it looks the same.
Edit: I just read about the back not being very high. Maybe they did change it a little.
These seem like a hard pass for anyone that is tall/taller. I'm over 6'2" and after seeing this I don't want to waste my time with these...be warned.
Anyway, the one I have that's branded differently but identical is pretty nice for this price. In response to the comments about the high back not being high, it's higher than the typical cheap folding camp chair. It is also easier and more comfortable to slouch down in this than in those. I'm about 6' and 200 lbs and can get into a pretty relaxed, comfortable position if I scoot a little forward and lean back. Yes, it's relatively big and heavy. I wouldn't want to carry it far but it's on my covered patio now and will be used at camp at festivals.
