No, and you don't get an additional 5% back if you do use a Red card, so this is a great opportunity to use a DiscoverIt card which has Target as a 5% CB category this quarter (10% CB if within your first year)

You only get the discount paid with the redcard, so in that case a 5 cent discount.

Chase freedom has 5% cashback with paypal (max $75) through the end of the year which can bring the discount to 15%

To the people asking, you can't buy any kind of digital currency (Visa gift cards, Target gift cards, Olive Garden gift cards, XBOX gift cards, Nintendo gift cards, etc.) with a Target gift card. If you attempt to pay for a purchase containing digital currency with a Target gift card, it will only apply funds to the non-digital currency items (if any) in your cart.

Funny, I tried to submit an order containing a gift card along with other items like clothing, cleaning products, etc but it wouldn't let me pay for any of the order with the gift card balance. I searched and searched for an option to split the payment between my red card and my gift card balance but I found no such option. Very frustrating. I wish Target would get it together.

Anyone have experiences returning/rebuying items recently purchased on sale to put on cards purchased after the fact? I'd like to put my $450 Xbox series X (w/ bonus $75 promo gift card) purchased on black friday on this deal to get some additional discount.

Can i buy two 500$ GC on two different accounts and use them for one purchase on one account?
The GC's should come with Codes that can be redeemed on any account. I would definitely contact Target Support Chat to be sure, though, and get a copy of that Chat Transcript to be sure.

Due to the $75.00 GC Promo, you will only get a $375.00 refund by returning the XSX as $75.00 of your $450.00 XSX will be allocated to the GC.

Can you add the $500 card straight to your Target account? Amazon allows that and it's safer than having cards with money on them.

Thanks. An extra 10% off $375 is better than nothing, I'll take it. Puts the price of the Xbox purchase at $412.50 (or $337.50 if I pretend the gift card is cash) before taxes, which would be great. My main concern is making sure the rep will be able to re-charge me for the promotional price to the gift card I'd purchase, because it'll be after the promotion ends.

Anyone know why when I try to buy Target gc's with Paypal, my orders get cancelled. I've tried 2 PP accounts, different credit/debit cards, & app/.com
If I use the card(s) directly, the order goes through, but I'm getting 5% from Chase using PP this quarter & want this deal to work.

Have you tried contacting Target Support Chat? There might be a restriction on using PayPal for GC's.

2 months ago I did a little test... I comparison shopped 17 items. I got prices at Target and Walmart.

Target cost 23% more... and only beat Walmart on 1 item (Charmin toilet paper, on sale at Target at the time).

Target stores are cleaner, and a little easier to navigate, but that price difference is simply way too large to justify shopping there (for me).
I order specific items I can't get at Walmart (or locally anywhere) and have them delivered to my door. Those specific items aren't more than I'd pay when I drive to the closest town that has them. For some reason Target's prices on organic pasta products and canned goods are comparable to everywhere else. That being said I'm still not tying up 5hundo on this this year. The 5% and free shipping from red card will suffice for me.

This is a very good use of the Discover 5% category this quarter, which is otherwise basically useless if you have an Amazon prime card and a Target red card. I usually buy $1,000 worth, and that pretty much covers my yearly shopping at Target, which is now 15% off plus any other deals they might have.
Do all Discover cards get the 5%? And do you have to "activate" that, they way Chase makes you activate their deals each quarter?

A 80 year old friend has a couple of credit cards, one is a Discover. But she's not online so if she has to activate it, I'm sure she hasn't. If you get the deal automatically, with any Discover card, I'll tell her about it.

Unless someone hacks your Target account ....
I buy the physical gift cards, multiple cards with $25 each on them, and I only carry a couple of gift cards at a time (unless I know I'll be spending more at Target).

Need to activate quarterly offer like Chase cards -- you can do it from online account or Discover app

Otherwise sometimes they send out a 1-click email activation link where you don't have to login similar to Chase -- not sure if they can call CS and have them activate it that way if their Discover card has quarterly 5%

Yes, Discover gets 5% cash back this quarter at Target, and yes, you first have to go online and activate the 5% cash back in the online Discover account before it works. Takes 5 minutes or less, but you do have to do it.
