I bought this truck for my youngest son a couple of years ago and have been pretty happy with it. You'll definitely end up replacing some parts - the plastic differential outdrive cups are a problem that you'll eventually need to replace (we went with metal parts) and we've stripped out a couple of differentials. Overall, it's a very good first truck.

Good little beater when the package is on sale for $89-99. Picked one up for the kids 2 years ago with some 2s lipo's. Like the OP said, the outdrive cups strip out, replaced them twice in 2 years ($5 a pair, Amazon) The kids beat on it pretty good, plenty of mud time. The motor let the smoke this year, Amazon has some 20t motors for $15. Definitely more hobby grade than the big box stores, but not top tier by any means.

My daughter loves this truck -- especially that it's bigger than my 1/14th scale. Perfect size to tackle rough terrain, and the 2WD hasn't let it down.

Buy this for your kids and you won't regret it!

Yeah there is literally nothing similar in this price range and 1/10 scale from a reputable brand however I would caution newcomers because it will break and you will need to fix often . Dunno if I would recommend this unit to someone new to this hobby . It may be an arrma but it's very entry level .

You may be better off spending more on something more durable brushless better build to avoid some repairs or upgrades ( anything u buy will break at some point) but then again you will be looking at $150 and up in this scale . The gorgon might be the closest in price and higher quality . Again I think this is a great value but know what you sign up for

Replace the servo. It's just a cheap plastic gear servo that wears out prematurely. I recommend a 996R servo. It's metal gear, cheap, and works quite well in these.

Also check that the tire nuts are snug. If you spin the front tires by hand, they should spin relatively straight.

Dropped a brushless motor kit in this and a lipo and it rips. Be mindful people who want to do the same try to find a brushless motor where the wiring exits the end of the canister. Not the side. There are potential clearance issues with the way the motor mounts in this model. I had to do some grinding.

Love this truck and now looking for a deal on the next level up for my son. It's been run a lot of time with throttle trim at less than 100% power (he didn't know!) and maybe that's why it has held up perfectly.

I think this is key. I've kept the trim <100% on all three of the ones we have and turned them up a bit as the kids have gotten older and better at control.

Isn't $90 the frequent price for this truck?

My 7yr old daughter has a blast with it. We have lots of room but she still slams into stuff, that's what it's for, right, 🤣
