I got about 50 days left and I don't plan on renewing otherwise.
I'll wait for 60-70% off these new high prices.

I'm currently on hold with Sony and see if I can contest this and get 12 months and not 7 months. 9 minutes and counting…
You can downgrade back to Essential to get the full 12 months from the basic PSPlus card.
I personally kept the truncated Extra to access and play a few dozen interesting games I wouldn't have otherwise paid to own (Stray, EDF: World Brothers, Midnight Fight Express, Balan Wonderworld, et al.), but the list is running dry, so this will be it for me. Once my Extra expires, I'll be a basic non-paying player of just the games I choose to buy. PSPlus member solid from 2016-2024.

Costco sometimes has sells but I am no longer a member so I can't guarantee the price.
Or can you still get an Essential "top-off" for what comes out to be $56 ($79.99-30% off=$56)
I subscribed every year until the ridiculous price hikes.
$20-$50 a year is reasonable, but above that is crazy.
These prices even with the discounts are criminal.
I wish I had never subscribed to begin with. $500 for what?
For a catalog of games I can't access on my PS3 or PS4 unless I pluck down another $80?
Had I watched discounts/sales over the years, I could have just bought them all physically for a similar amount. As an adult, I could pay these subscription prices if I wanted to, but as a kid I wouldn't have "ever" been able to afford this. What kid/teenager/college student has a random $70+ just to play games online? Doesn't this severely deplete the online userbase? Isn't that problematic for most multiplayer games? These price hikes are the #1 reason I haven't bought a PS5 or any additional games on my PS4. $500 for the system isn't appetizing knowing if I want to play online, that's another $100. If online play was included, I would have bought one on release day.... Am I in the minority? Or do others feel like the pricing is OK....
I don't know anything about the Xbox platform. Is the pricing similar?
On Switch, online is like $10 if you're in a family plan.... I've bought probably 50 games for that platform compared to the zero for Playstation/Xbox due to their online subscription pricing...
What originally got me devoted to PS3 vs Xbox360 was the free online play....
What's the hook for Sony over Microsoft now? Exclusives? They appear very limited....
I really think they've outpriced what the average gamer is willing to pay. Maybe I'm wrong....
If Nintendo releases something that plays games in 4K next year I think they have the opportunity to steal a ton of market share....
Could still get Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $7-8/month recently & I stacked the max 3 years. Giving PS Plus a time out.
