yes all the good stuff was gone before the op's post even hit... it just goes to prove that SD is not the place it used to be - it used to be on the absolute cutting edge of time forefront when major sales events occur especially on a major retailers website like Amazon and when things like this happen you would know about it from the first minute but not anymore. what this website is now is a hoarders Paradise where selfish people first pick the carcass before posting on SD about it. that's exactly what happened here there's no question about it. again, SD is not the site it used to be this as this would never happen in the good old days.

I am a FWF refugee so I haven't been here for too long but I have to say: I usually get one good deal every couple years and a few solid promos a year. Definitely not that great though and the return on time invested is minimal. It does seem like there's a lot of hoarder-bait (free kindle ebooks, $0.05 of Disney rewards points, etc.)

I definitely value the comments that seem authentic in deal threads though. Reviews are untrustworthy and even Reddit makes me skeptical. While half of this site might be inauthentic/shills/sponsored I do believe there's a decent amount of normal people with reliable opinions here.

Agreed. That's why I am still here. But I do spend less time looking for deals here, which is probably a good thing for my wallet =) I used to get an insane deal here at least once a week, now like you said, it's once or twice a year. Better than nothing.

Not that I am aware of. You would need to find a site that is community run and not paid by sponsors. Then you would need that community to help each other, keep out flippers, etc. Remember when Target and BB employees would leak the BF add way in advance or an employee would say if you use this, this, and this you can get a deal this way? I got my Panasonic Plasma TV that way from Sears (when Sears existed) Thank you Sears employee who told me exactly how to do it and what to say. Smilie All that is prohibited now, but it was fun while it lasted.

Remember the price mistakes that would be posted here? I got in on that late night Chemical Guys price mistake madness and picked up multiple polishers, cleaning kits, etc. Of course, this was before the scumbags who pick off the deals first so they can scalp the items then post the deal here. It seems that its a business model now to spot great deals and rather than post instead buy up the lot, then post the deal for reps.
