Called around to a bunch of local one, found 1 shop that will let you waive accessories, but was still $390 OTD for iPhone 12 and iPhone 11.

Another option may be to port a Google Voice number. Some stores may not take it, but I was successful.

The key problem I had to work around was getting the transfer PIN. Google uses your phone number for the account, and your voicemail PIN as the activation PIN. The problem is that most people don't have a voicemail PIN because they just install the GV app. It took me a while, but I finally found the option to check GV VM from any phone. It is turned OFF by default. When you enable that option, you will be prompted to set up a PIN.

A GV number is free and included when you set up a new Google/gmail account. You do have to "Unlock" the number, and there is a $3 fee for that if you want to port the number out.

I had a throwaway gmail account from earlier this year. I got the GV number for that account on Saturday night and ported it out the next day to get the S23FE deal.
What did you provide them as the carrier for port in? Is it Google Voice?

Thanks!

Yes, Google Voice. It's possible, but YMMV, as it is with everything else when dealing with authorized dealers.

$99.99 Port in Price
$65 plan required for Iphone 12 deal
$10 Sim Card
$50 charger (depends on third party store might only try charge you for charger/case or both)
$50 case
$20 activation fee is waived right now for Black Friday.

"pay the applicable sales tax on the pre-credit price at time of purchase. Instant rebate of $530 will be applied to the full retail price of $629.99" so that means you pay sales tax on full MSRP so if its 10% that's $63

Looking at $250-$300 depends on how bad they try rip you off with "required" accessories.
Metro still does this stuff? Amazing….. and every store I ever went into had a different "policy" etc… what a joke

Pickup a Iphone 12 and Iphone 11 at an authorized dealer today. IPhone 12 was $99 plus $65 plan and Iphone 11 was free with add on $30 plan. $20 Activation fee only once plus tax. Total out the door was $221. No insurance or crappy accessories upsell. Not great but not too bad.
Does that include sales tax? I went to local store and their math is different, $25 activation fee and total over $360 for two phones.

Which 2 phones did you get? If you got 2 iphone 12's then the price is different. I only got 1 iphone 12 and 1 iphone 11.

just to clarify that was the price for iphone 11+12. I hadn't actually bought it, I asked them to do the math. I'm still not convinced it's a good deal.

Please note you have to sign a 3 year contract on that iPhone 14 plus with the Walmart gc deal. The free iPhone 14 plus is credited monthly/pro rated. Don't try to cancel out 2 days after you get the iPhone and think you beat the system in getting iPhone's for free. You will get charged for the iPhone on the final bill or go to collections if you ignore them. I had friends that try it thinking they were slick-dealers and found out the hard way. LMAO
The GC is the slick part of the deal, not the "free phone" since no one wants to be locked into a 3 year contract. The entire thread is dedicated to Q&A about how to pay in full and cancel in 3 days.

just got back from my local metro store. I paid $459 OTD for two iphone 12s, because they charged ~$16/device for insurance and forgot to bundle the lines, but I called after and they switched me to the $80/2 lines plan and credited me $47 to future bills. So $412, and that's including my city's 10.25% tax rates, which are placed on the full retail price on the phone (as far as I know there's no way to waive that, please let me know if anyone's had luck otherwise). So (100 x 2) + 80 + 132 in taxes. My intention is to cancel one line and have them switch me to the $25 plan on the other next month (the same I paid on visible, albeit for a slightly worse plan with limited hotspot data). My service was set to charge again in four days, so call that $4 wasted on service (worth it to avoid the black friday crowd/potential OoS). I also paid $3 to port out a google voice number (account number = phone number, pin = voicemail pin, which you can set from account>voicemail>call to listen, which will prompt you to set a pin. I wasn't asked to buy any additional accessories.

So in total, $419 for two phones and a month of service on each, with ongoing costs being the same as I had with visible (assuming they let me switch to the $25 plan, which I read elsewhere they will). So $394 more than I would have paid to continue with my current plan for two new iphone 12s. If you have better tax rates than where I live it'd be significantly cheaper. My plan is to try to get customer service to let me to unlock one phone early and sell it; if not I'll hang onto it for six months and then sell. I'm guessing that I should be able to get $250 minimum for the 12 in new condition, likely more. Pretty decent I think? At the very least I think this was less complicated than those earlier in the thread implied. Hope this helps!

Easiest way to get a port in number is from visible.com with $20 off referral from reditt. total cost would be around $5. Need to have verizon compatable phone with eSim

No. As long as SE3 has already activated and shows you the unlock date upon texting UNLOCK to 611611, you're good to port out.
