On an unrelated note, what's the case for this over ipad air? I have one of them that I got last November for $400...

Yeah. Weird. They briefly had a deal on the iPad mini 256GB/5G model for $500 a few weeks ago. Wish I'd jumped on it as I'd like something between my phone and older 12.9" iPad Pro.

I'm torn because the rumors are that the Air will be getting the M2 along with a 12 inch screen in the first quarter of 2024. A 12.9 M2 Air at this price point sounds pretty awesome. And the Pros should be getting M3 and OLED sometime next year. Obviously there's ALWAYS better stuff coming, but I feel like I'd regret getting this really soon.

A large screen m2 air will be no where near this price for months

I have the 11" 2018 IPad Pro 64GB model with the A12X processor along with the Magic Keyboard, use this thing daily for media consumption as well as some light work. Wondering if it makes sense to upgrade to this? I wouldn't mind the extra 64GB of data, but not sure if I will even notice the M2 processor. Seem like a waste of money or should I stay with my existing iPad until they come up with a major revision?
