Been using Quicken since 1997. At one point I had switched to Microsoft Money which I ended up liking a lot. Too bad they discontinued that and back to Quicken I went. This product has not improved in any meaningful way in the last 10 years and in some ways it's worse. It seems more buggy now than it ever has. It takes multiple minutes to download transactions, when it used to be very fast. Occasionally some data corruption will occur and that's when good backups come into play. The fact that it works with all of my financial institutions is what keeps me using it. I'd love to switch to something else but I don't want to store my data in a cloud service.

I don't recommend this product for new users.
Nothing on the page says it's for new subscriptions only so I'm going to bite. I also checked other retailers for the same product number (170457) and none of them mentioned any restrictions.

However, be aware of the following (from Quicken's site):
A membership can only be extended in the last six months of a subscription term. You can extend a subscription term by redeeming an activation code in a retail copy. However, this also can only be done in the last six months of your current subscription term. Therefore, multiple terms cannot be purchased and used at once to extend a membership.

Retail purchases: Activation codes are good for one year after purchase.

I don't see how Quicken would know when you bought your subscription from Newegg. So, if I had more than 6 months remaining on my existing subscription, I'd save my proof of purchase in case I needed Quicken support help with activation.

I've been using Moneydance ever since Quicken moved to subscription based service. I'm getting pretty sick of every single piece of software becoming SaaS. Not saying Moneydance is great. It certainly has its issues and doesn't sync with everything (although does if you do decide to pay for the optional subscription). Otherwise it does everything I need and it's cross platform compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux. Everything is stored locally and you can choose to sync the data to a cloud service if you choose to.

This looks like it's geared for businesses and not individuals.

I co-sign this statement. I used Microsoft Money sunset edition for a while, back to Quicken, got fed up *again*, and currently using last offline/legacy edition of YNAB and manually inputting my data. That's how much a hate Quicken.

Mine is expiring any day too. I have Premiere. Will this work and just downgrade me to deluxe?
I haven't used Quicken for a few years but I was allowing my old one to expire for 3 months or more and then renewed and I was able to download the previous 3 months from bank statements etc. This was a way to get 15 months out of the service. I didn't need to track monthly--used mainly for taxes at the end of the year. Didn't use for investments either.

It was difficult to let Quicken go since using it since it was available (DOS version). The one thing I miss is being able to find a receipt for a more expensive item. I usually put the purchase item in memo and could right to the month/year and get the receipt/phone/info etc.

For warranty info I just scan receipts and/or put in a warranty paper file.

Yes what they said, i have always gotten someone on phone at customer service. If they knew what they were talking about is a different story. One thing i really HATE quicken will blame the finical institution and when you call the finical institution they blame quicken there we go back and forth..........

Quicken used to be a $20 piece of software, now it's a subscription only service. F that. I just want to write business checks and keep a register, so now I just use free Gnucash. It's 'you get what you pay for' level.

I don't see how Quicken would know when you bought your subscription from Newegg. So, if I had more than 6 months remaining on my existing subscription, I'd save my proof of purchase in case I needed Quicken support help with activation.
I agree, only caution I would give you is when I bought Quicken through @best buy on sale then waited until I was within 6 months, I found best buy sold me a Quicken that had already been activated. When I tried to exchange it Best Buy was no help and said it was beyond the window to return/exchange.

I haven't used it to do so, but it looks like it does have the capability to print checks.

So this is for a key shipped to you instead of email. What a waste of paper.
