its the titanium metal that makes it expensive. Most knock-offs feature stainless steel. I know cause I have both and use them in saltwater diving. Apple version is well worth it!

I am personally disappointed with apple waterproofing. My watch 7 got water damage and died while swimming in the water. It was one month out of warranty. I removed the screen after to see what happen. Crown leaked and corroded internal parts.

Was wondering the same, got ultra 1 on release day last year. Best method I've found is to get those water bottle straw cleaner sets (multiple sizes of bristles). I got a set of Amazon, the second smallest one in this particular set works well for those holes. Little bit of soap and water

Thanks for the info. I have like 5 knockoffs from Amazon. Look perfect and exactly the same. Didn't know the metal was different, but I never tried it in salt water.

The 7 is a POS. I have one that is all scratched up, so delicate. And the battery life is trash. Just ordered an Ultra 2, can't wait! I hesitated due to cost but I can't have such a delicate watch.

I'm a runner and picked the ocean band over the others. It's so easy to wipe clean, and the fit is great for my skinny wrist. I saw too many reviews of the other bands looking dirty all the time. I don't regret my pick.
