I bought the Serif Affinity Suite for personal use a few months back (on sale at the time, but not as nice as this). I use the Adobe CS5 suite at work because we don't want to pay the Adobe subscription fees.
I've been very impressed with the Serif Affinity Suite. I've done some nice freelance work with it. For background, I'm pretty good with the Adobe Suite, and picking up the Serif Affinity Suite hasn't been too difficult. Picking up most of it has been intuitive. There are some features that would be nice to have for sure, but there have been work arounds in my case. I've used all three of their alternatives with success. So far, I've used the InDesign alternative the least of the three.
I've installed the suite on multiple computers and they have all worked great so far. I haven't worked on any huge files yet, but it seems to run smoothly.
If you are in the market for this type of software and don't need ALL the bells and whistles of the Adobe Suite, I highly recommend the Serif Affinity Suite.
I dislike the subscription-based models myself, but I understand it from the business side - I just choose not to participate in it.

I don't need to upgrade, really, but I feel that I should chip in for a good alternative to adobe's evil subscriptions.
Full Affinity suite upgrade price of $74 puts it at about $5 more than the regular Affinity Photo price.

Single app, single platform is $42.
