Last time they had this a couple months ago I got something that was clearly used. Refurbished is sketchy because I'm not sure who's doing it. Was dirty and not great condition at all. They gave me a discount due to the issue but I'd be weary if concerned about a professional refurbishing.
In my experience the self cleaning brushroll does work. I had an older shark vacuum that didn't have it, and I used to have to turn it over and pull/cut hair and fibers that were wrapped around the roller every once in a while. That vacuum ended up not lasting and being replaced under warranty, and they gave me an updated model with a self cleaning brushroll. It mostly takes care of itself and I don't need to remove hair and fiber from the roller.

FYI, on Shark's warranty on new items, they only cover the main motor/body for the full years of warranty. So when the main hose that comes out of the head to the body was cracking, and the handle with the switch was cracking, and the head wouldn't stay in a locked upright position and started flopping around loosely. those apparently weren't covered under the full 7 year warranty it had. They said I had to buy replacement parts for them. The only reason they replaced it under warranty was because the power cord rubber grommet thing was splitting where it went into the vacuum body, and apparently that was covered. I was not happy with the warranty experience, it was super disappointing thinking I had a 7 year warranty on it and then having them tell me it didn't cover most of the vacuum.
Ew, yeah this put the nail in the coffin for me. Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure why this isn't getting more love. I bought one of these Sharks (similar model) for our cleaner for our mountain cabin 5 years ago. She loved it and it had very heavy usage. It just broke down so this is perfect timing and these same refurbs are on sale on Amazon right now for $109. $49-59 equals no-brainer. Thanks OP.

Self cleaning brush roll worth extra $10? Looks like the 59 version doesn't come with per attachment. However I have tile floors and only a few rugs, no pets

Look under "features" on the 59 model...it actually says the pet tool is included under there.

This is low key a really good deal if you just want a vac that does the job. I used to own a corded Shark years ago. It wasn't Dyson v8 hype, but it worked very well and lasted almost 10 years.

Not listed in the main thread is the WZ440H for $89, which is essentially from online reviews equivalent to V10 power wise but without having to worry about all those Dyson attachments. 11amps of power is nothing to scoff at too for a cordless vac. Might be the best value of the bunch.

But all I have is a tiny studio apartment so my needs aren't huge. I just don't want to spend Dyson $$$ for touching up a 450sqft apt but still want cordless so I don't have to worry about tripping circuts, and I have too much clutter for a robo vac 🤷

Yeah, it also says "wide upholstery tool" in one place. And the pictures on both listings look like different attachments for the pet attachment. Wish this was clearer, because I prefer the attachment picture of the cheaper version without self-cleaning, but an extra $10 for self cleaning sounds like a no brainer.

I bought it as an experiment awhile ago. It has amazing suction for such a small thing. To me I just didn't find the utility worthwhile given the tiny nozzle so I returned it (was a YMMV Walmart clearance). I think you'd be better off getting the wandvac model with the full attachment so you can vacuum the car like a regular vac, and then switch to the handheld components for more specific touch ups.

Dog fleas, bed bugs, etc get sucked into a vacuum cleaner, now spread all over the insides.

Who knows what a used vacuum has been used for.

Then returned and.... Just how do they "refurbish" a used vacuum to remove ALL of that??

My experience exactly, maybe 2 yrs ago on one of the bigger units .
But it is still working well. It was essentially a pretty well used unit, dusted off...some. It was a joke call it refurbished. Got a good discount so I kept it.

A few month ago I got a stick obe and that one was refurbished to new condition, if it was ever used anywhere.

Both are great vacs.
