Anyone else surprised to see an EUC posted on slickdeals?

I've had the Master a year now and I think it's great, for 2100 it's ideal for someone who is looking to step up from a non suspension wheel.

Much of the Electric Unicycle "community" strongly recommends going through an EUC dealer like eWheels or Alien Rides instead of Amazon. These specialized retailers have better support and I've also heard getting a solid EUC on Amazon is more of a crapshoot than eWheels or Alien Rides.

Amazon has the same price for Inmotion EUCs. Extra 5% off on Amazon has me preferring that retailer.

I bought a Segway scooter on sale a couple years back for $300. It was fun, but anything that is not a bike is not worth this price point. You can get an amazing e-bike for about 1k, perhaps a bit more. Even if they reduced the price in half, I would laugh.
I know you're talking about scooters, but I want to push back a little bit on "anything that is not a bike is not worth this price point" at least in my experience. I have two nice e-bikes, one of which I commuted to work with every day except when it was too cold or wet.

At the beginning of this year spring, I bought a V11 and have now commuted to work with it every day instead of the e-bike. I thought I'd at least keep using the e-bikes for grocery trips, but I'm surprised to report that even for that I've used the EUC with a big backpack.

I've discovered how much faster and more convenient it is at the destination to use the EUC because you can easily walk right in and not worry about locking it to a bike rack. The EUC has been faster than commuting and doing [closer] errands than even a car. Cutting out parking, and being able to take shortcuts saves so much more time than I would have guessed.

Of course your mileage may vary depending on the nature of your commute.

i think this is actually a doorbuster deal for experiennced EUC person you got a ~50mph wheel, can make it cheap if you put small battery pack in it and the performance would be very similar to a bigger pack. It's kind of a "make your own deal" deal

I like where this is headed. Is there any information online that indicates which batteries are compatible with the EX.N?

email the guy at ewheels.com or try contacting alien rides I'm sure they know what standard the packs need to be.

I think this company either has or can make what you need:

Man, I keep thinking that I could replace my ruined v8 with the updated one for under a grand... but for a little more I could get the v11... but for a little more I could get the Begode Master. Went from maybe spending under a grand, to probably spending over two grand.

Only downside is I used to ride carefree on the v8, but if I get the Master, I'm going to have to wear a helmet and gear, or practice extreme restraint.

EDIT: Placed an order for the Master, and somehow shipping was free, bringing the price down to $2k even.

Wife told me I've got to work out at least twice a week if I get this (haven't worked out since pandemic started), and she encourages me to get a gym membership. Looks like I'll be taking the EUC to the gym twice a week.

E-Scooters are safer and better. Just bought a Segway G2 Max for $850 after tax on eBay with 1 year warranty from Segway and 3 year Allstate so im covered for a while.

I strongly considered an EUC over a one wheel b/c one wheel felt unsafe and unstable for me. But EUCs need more upkeep, can't go on sand, have worse reliability, and you have to do a lot of electrical handy work.

Plus they're way more expensive at least $1500+ for anything semi decent.

My G2 Max has suspension in it and I think suspension is an important safety feature when you're going over 20-30. MPH depending on your comfort level.

Well here's exactly how it is. Easiest, safest for new evehicle riders is a scooter, and it will drive and handle good. if you want something for recreation an possibly driving and keeping up with vehicle traffic? that'd be a pretty expensive scooter or euc that can do 40-50 mph (for safety, so people aren't constantly trying to get around you and have little regard for your well being). even with the bigger / best wheel for road and offroads, Skateboards can hit a rock pebble or drop down into a hidden rabbit/gopher hole, at which time your board will stop almost immediately but your journey isn't over as the board will send you flying with your head leading the way to smack right into the hard concrete / tarmac. Same can be said for onewheel product.

However, for recreation the skateboard and onewheel will both give you the most fun and give you a smooth carving experience

If you're looking for more fun and recreation then e-skateboard or onewheel. if you got more money get one of the well reviewed electric dirtbike motorcycles, the fast torque and the amazing offroad capability will also be a ton of fun

As far as I know, you're not going to find a suspension wheel as "portable" or "agile" as a V8. That's something you'll have to sacrifice to get a suspension wheel. The InMotion V11 and King Song S18 are still maybe your best bets in terms of light and nimble suspension wheel, especially the S18. Even the new InMotion Adventure and King Song S16 have managed to shrink the wheel and increase the weight. Suspension is nice on your knees and smooths out the ride, but isn't entirely necessary.

If you're skipping suspension, then there are a lot of "a bit more speed" than the V8 but still light and nimble. Begode A2 comes to mind as a relatively inexpensive option.
As someone that was highly skeptical going into the suspension world... There is no trade off on agility if you dial in the suspension to have preload super tight. Now if you adjusted suspension to be sloppy and floaty, yeah. Biggest trade off for suspension wheels is the added weight for the same class wheel.
