It's a 5.1 with true 4 speaker setup, has front lcd display and Dolby Atmos. All for $129. When it comes to soundbars, with exception of the Vizio M-series 5.1.x (which costs over 2x), you're not going to notice much difference between all of them.
Price to feature ratio on this is pretty tough to beat. If I can get 2 or 3 years worth of decent sound from this, I'd consider it a win.
Thanks for the post, OP! Just got one for the extra 65" in the bonus room.
I don't have optimal placement for the rears , they're just on two side tables left and right of my chair - blocked by chair and far from ear level. Still an enormous improvement and I can definitely tell certain audio is coming from the rears during certain scenes. Probably easy to wow me since i've never had more than 2.1. Subwoofer on the hisense is a definite improvement, too.
This is the most theater-like sound i've ever experienced at home so that's cool. I really bought it to see if it improved voice clarity. All dialogue seems to be coming from in front of me watching Netflix's 2022 film, Troll… but I haven't had to adjust the volume between talking scenes and action scenes once. I got so used to this with my old sound bar that I just left the remote in my lap. TL;DR i'm super happy with the result and the price. The only thing I lost was the volume # on my tv (Samsung tv with samsung bar did this) but that doesn't matter at all since this hisense has a display on the front.
I'd like to see a review but I'm always worried about the dialog being too quiet so I usually want to boost the center channel on my receiver setup. Curious how this handles the center channel and dialog/voices.

night and day difference from the tv speakers, make sure to turn the surround volume up to the get the full effect of the rear speakers, i didnt have it turned up and you could barely hear them, you need to hold the surround button for 3 seconds then increase the volume, once i did this it started to sound a lot more full
im by no means an audiophile so to me coming from always using tv speakers this sounds awesome
eventually in the future i'd like to get a full speaker setup but for now im pretty satisfied, not to mention how easy it was to set up, it took about 30 min total having never set up a soundbar before so that was nice too
EDIT: After playing around a bit more, I can see that a message that says "SW PAIRING SHORT" scrolls across the sound bar when stopping any surround content, even just pausing a movie, then stopping that movie brings up the "SW CLEAN" message, and that's when the surround speakers and sub become disconnected. They will then not connect again unless I manually pair them. I cannot find any reference to those messages in the manual anywhere, or in any internet searches. It's as if these are some sort of internal diagnostic codes that I'm not even supposed to be seeing (why have them displayed on the unit if there is no description of what they mean anywhere?). I think I'm just going to have to return the whole thing, which is such a pain because I just got everything installed throughout my living room. Ugh.
Unlike what others have experienced, my set hasn't shown any signs of disconnecting issues or static noise coming from the satellites.
Aside from having only 1 HDMI input, I would say this system is pretty good.

I will be returning my soundbar because my TV only have ARC and Dolby Digital so it doesn't support Atmos
yeah - I hear that and bit of unclear audio on one the left rear speaker, but when the sound content is richer and loud I don't feel that. Wondering if it's the cable.. or what !
EDIT/UPDATE: As soon as I finished typing the above I said, screw it, I'm going to just do this right now. I swapped out each component, leaving the cables from the first unit in place. As soon as I powered everything on, the surrounds and sub automatically paired and I could hear them all working. As I navigated to the Netflix app on my smart TV to test some true surround sources I noticed the "SW CLEAN" message scrolling across the sound bar and lost all connections again. I'm so frustrated. The only thing I can think of as an issue is that my wifi 6 mesh router is very close to the TV, so I don't know if I'm getting some kind of interference that is breaking the Bluetooth connection between the sound bar and the remote speakers? Is your wifi setup similar by any chance?

I use it exclusively for the tv, but to confirm everything was working I used the Bluetooth feature and streamed some Pearl Jam / Classic rock via my cellphone. I was pretty impressed. Enough bass for my taste of music and the SW is not turned up all the way. It is a 2022 model and now out of stock at Costco, at least on line.

So thinking to get this hisense 5.1.2 or Vizio M series 5.1.2 ($350 at BB)
Any suggestion is welcome.
So what I think was happening is that initially my sub was closer to the main unit, basically right underneath but a thick AV cabinet blocking direct line of sight, and it was losing connection. But when I moved to a different outlet, it ended up further away (still only 8 ft) but had a clear line of sight to the soundbar. So seems though the manual says they can connect wirelessly up to 18 ft away, it might be a bit sensitive if it's getting reflected/indirect signal when line of sight is blocked. I did not have to re-position the wireless surround speakers, I think when the sub loses the signal, the surrounds dropped too even if they have good line-of-sight. So try re-positioning the sub elsewhere in the room and see if that helps.
The second annoying glitch I'm having is that while the soundbar powers on/off with the TV (I think via HDMI-CEC) automatically (very nice in itself), the soundbar will randomly turn on with no signal. Even if I turn it off with the remote, it may turn back on. Since I have this in the bedroom, needless to say this would be freaky and annoying in the middle of the night with the lights and chimes. It was happening immediately and constantly when I had a Firestick 4K source (powered via the soundbar USB) in the soundbar HDMI-in - I removed the Firestick and now stream via ARC from my TV's apps and it's only happened a couple of times, so I'll disable the startup chime and can probably live with it. (I tried turning HDMI-CEC on or off in the Firestick, in case it was fighting for CEC control with the TV, neither helped until I removed it)
After resolving these glitches, pretty happy with the surround sound, including Atmos, for the low price - no hiss/static in the wireless speakers. My bedroom budget Vizio with ARC (but not eARC) doesn't support Atmos natively, but apparently can pass it via DD+ output. When the soundbar is connected (and all the wireless speakers properly paired), the built-in apps like Netflix will show the Atmos logo on shows (where it wouldn't otherwise). On Prime and Apple TV+ apps, when I start a show with Atmos, the soundbar will display ARC and then DOLBY ATMOS - the TV's info menu is a bit inconsistent, its status sometimes says ATMOS OUTPUT, but sometimes shows Dolby Surround, so but I trust the soundbar since it's doing the processing. On the TV's Netflix app, the show info menu will display the Atmos symbol, but when I play it's been inconsistent, I think I've seen the soundbar and TV menu show DOLBY ATMOS, but now mostly the soundbar only flashes ARC and then DOLBY SURROUND. I've read in forums my Vizio doesn't have an updated Netflix app that can do Atmos, so if I can get Atmos with all the other apps and just 5.1 surround for Netflix, I'll live with it.
Ironically though the Firestick 4K is supposed to support Atmos, when used via the soundbar HDMI-in, I couldn't get Atmos support to show on the Netflix menus, or any other app, even messing with the Firestick audio settings. Since I was already doing better with the Vizio built-in apps, I didn't debug further given the random power on issues the Firestick seemed to be causing with the soundbar.
