Pluses are:
- Automatic Document Feeder, which is good for scanning multiple documents (although it does not have duplex scanning)
- Duplex (2-sided) printing
- Connectivity options including Ethernet and WiFi
- Paper feed options include front and rear paper feeders (this may be an advantage for thicker card stock?)
- Subjective opinion (all other things being equal, I like the matte black finish)
- Long lasting ink-tanks and cheap refills
- Includes two extra black ink bottles
Disadvantages:
- Slow printing (not an issue for occasional low-volume printing)
- Antiquated display (2-line dot matrix with poor lighting, instead of backlit LCD display)
And their diaper pads that need changing every couple years are an evil mess.
Never again. Went with Epson EcoTank and a premium 4S head. When the ink recycling fills, it's a $15 box that you replace like an ink cartridge every 3-4 years.

Epson print speeds vary because Epson uses four different print heads:
* Micro Piezo - Cheapest printers
* PrecisionCore 2S
* PrecisionCore 4S
* Micro Piezo HD - ET-7000 and above, Epson Photo high end printers.
This seems counter intuitive. But basically the low and high end printers use the same tech. Just with much higher dot range.
PrecisionCore uses less ink and is much faster. It is their "laser-like" print system. Those are epic fast.
The easiest way to check is to look at the technical sales PDF that Epson puts out for each printer model.
The only downside to PrecisionCore is the photo prints only match Canon. The ET-7/8xxx series are the best in the world.
Also search PrecisonCore on Google. Some blogs go more in depth.
I don't know how this model compares but I purchased the GX6021 due to consumer reports rating it as the fastest refillable inkjet printer with the best photo printing.

I think that is a better deal than this Canon with it's very old looking b/w single line display. Also, last thing I need is Alexa nagging me that I might need ink soon, and ordering it for me. I prefer to shop the best deal on ink instead of relying on Alexa.

Ok, so what model Epson is the better deal? I've always used cheap printers (Canons with generic ink mostly). Online I'm seeing the G6020 (same as this without feed tray) compared to the ET-2760. The Canon price right now is $139 ($179 for this G7020), the Epson is $356. Sorry, I'll deal with the pad occasionally before I spend $200 more on an Epson. FYI, the printer is for printing daily school worksheets for my son and recording them (reason for feed tray), and other general documents. Is there an under $200 Epson that you recommend that's worth sending this Canon back for?
