Not worth the money in my opinion. 7840HS is no doubt powerful, but because it can run at higher power, not for any architecture or core advantages. Now inside a big gaming laptop, that becomes a major factor because those can run the CPU at way higher TDP, near to 80W, for longer durtaion and on those scenarios, 7840HS can be significantly faster than a 7840U.

But in these slim and light small 14" laptops, with limited cooling, hardly the CPU can run at those kind of higher power and most cases they are maxed out to 35W-45W and the performance gap noarrows down due to that.

Received mine today, but their system only showing 1 yr warranty for my unit. Contacted tech support and they said need to contact a different group, SRG which handles warranties. Called SRG and no one picked up, voicemail box is full. It seems they are really difficult to get ahold of.

Is anyone else having same issue and any advise? Thanks in advance!
Did you get any resolution to the warranty period issue? I thought it was supposed to be a 5 yr warranty (edit: I think it's a 3 yr warrantly). I'm expecting to receive my order in early January.

I also saw the same thing and mailed the serial number and other details to [email protected]. They have not come back yet with any resolution.
Fingers crossed. 🤞

I didn't use a cashback site, which probably makes me a pretty lame slickdealer. But I did get the $150 back on Amex.

I noticed in the HP support app it shows the 1 year for the basic hardware warranty, but there's a 3 year care support as well. Best to verify on support.hp.com. I had to review my device warranties and it shows the 3 year "Care Pack" included in the purchase.
