I'm not really encouraging anyone to upgrade but this is objectively false.
I went from a ceramic series 5 to a 9 and
- everything is insantaneous, where as the 5 was laggy (and it annoyed me.)
- the bezels are smaller and it's more dramatic than i anticipated
- my battery life experience went from ~11 hours to well over 24h
- siri is more reliable (quicker on device transcription) although this benefit is kinda negated by the fact almost anything you instruct it to do entails the internet so it's a mixed bag
- it charges faster (that I don't care about)
- has the single-handed tap gestures ... which are admittedly useless

but yeah if you don't care about any of these things, then sure, they're totally the same
Regret missing that target deal that was cheaper
Series 8…literally no meaningful differences in the last ~4+ versions of this watch. I'm an "apple guy" and still wear a series 4 because there's been 0 reason to upgrade. Side by side or on your wrist, no one would be able to tell what model you're wearing

So I bought the used (like new) midnight series 8 from the deal below for $205. I can't decide if new is worth the $50 more. Any opinions?

I did the same and I received a Galaxy 5 watch. When I called there was nothing Amazon would do, except tell me I can return the wrong watch to the nearest UPS

Looking to buy a 45mm GPS only Apple Watch. This is $305 shipped while Target had it for $255 during BF. I ordered the 41mm from Target but ended up cancelling because I changed my mind on the 41mm. Hopefully the ~$255 45mm deal returns. From experience, these deals come back often when I bought my Series 6 also for ~$2xx a couple of years back. I feel it will return during X'mas / boxing day time frame.

Thanks- got this for my mom for Christmas. My dad passed away in January and she's in her upper 70's, so I'd like some kind of locator/fall detection/health monitoring system on her. Should give me a little peace of mind.

Agree I use the protector you mentioned, or similar, from day one on my 5 and nary a scratch on the real screen. I've busted up many of the protectors though, one time with just a simple bang on the corner of a dresser. No way of knowing if it would have cracked the watch screen itself, but glad I didn't have to find out.
It's totally a personal preference, many hate anything on their precious Apple products. I enjoy swapping out the different color screen protectors along with the numerous colorful watch bands.
See...this is where I feel Samsung makes better watches than Apple. That's just unacceptable. I've done similar things with my Galaxy watches and have never so much as scratched a screen in the last 10 years. Not sure if it's their bezel design, the glass they use, or the thickness, but Apple needs to up their game.

I live in Austin, Texas and have two brand new unopened 45 mm that I got for myself and my wife for $552.05 from Target. One of them is silver and other is starlight. We have decided to stick to the garmin ecosystem. I can return them in store until Jan 9, 2023. Just trying to see if anyone has missed this deal and is local in Austin, Texas and then I can give them for the exact price that we bought for. I am not trying to make any profit. I want to give back to the SD community.
