This victus and the gigabyte are lower wattage version of the 4060.. plus I'm guessing the cooling is sub-par.

I went to look at these Asus TUF laptops in person that are similar in performance, one thing that turned me off from them is all of these Asus laptops keyboards have a lot of flex in their case. I could push it in by around half an inch.
Walmart offers returns until Jan 31st, you could try it out and return it later.

Even though 4060 is only 75 watts it's only 15% slower than average full power 4060. This has better performance per watt than a 100 watt 4050 and produces less heat.
Power button location between F12 and Delete key is a bit odd. Matte IPS screen is good enough.
I have no idea why they do it. Probably to make you buy an Omen that isn't throttled and a bit more expensive.

The Wprime 1024M time of 178 seconds is really fast, even faster than most i7-12650H and i5-13500H surprisingly. I repeated the result but I can hardly believe my eyes. It runs hot and fast in Best performance mode while Balanced mode is noticeably slower.
I will test Cinebench when I have time, but I am not expecting such amazing performance in Cinebench compared to that Wprime 1024M time.

The specs say it only will accept 16GB of RAM which it ships with, however I was able to get a 32GB kit to work just fine.
The cooling on this thing is pretty great I have to say which is surprising that they thermal throttled the 4060.
When I opened up the case to upgrade the RAM I found something disturbing and as I texted a friend..."words escape me".
Yep, that's right...it has 1 NVMe slot. Board would easily accept another as the soldering and PCB are prepped for it. Some bean counter decided to save $.50 and ruin what could have been a tremendous value.
As nice as the laptop is for the money, the lack of a 2nd NVMe slot is going to force me to return this thing tomorrow. Bummer as I thought I had found a hidden gem even with the gimped 4060.

Reason #1: poor battery life (I mean BAD -- REALLY BAD: full charge to dead w/n an hour). There's supposed to be a 'fix' but I wasn't want to chance it.
Other reasons:
- 'cheap' all plastic build quality
- keyboard is skewed way left putting the center of keyboard at about 1/3 from the left side of the laptop
- this skewed keyboard puts your right palm squarely on top of track pad
I've had probably 20 or more laptops over the years of all brands.
Overall, this laptop feels like it was a Temu/AliExpress special rather than an HP.
