Moral of the story? At least try to call a few local shops to see if you can get a better price on your next oil change. Most are probably high, but there are still a few righteous shops out there hanging on for dear life watching while people grossly overpay for the most simple services elsewhere.
Not an option for everyone to be sure, but it's maintenance almost anyone can handle if they have a place to work and the desire to save some money.

$104.99
-$25 coupon
so $79.99 plus tax for full synthetic and of course the quote full service check.
Upon leaving my tire pressure light came on and I had to refill my tires at home with my own compressor to the door decal psi....they had actually deflated my tires. Also, got the hard sell for a new battery and other filters and wiper blades.
This after I had recently got a dealer offer for full synthetic for $49.99.
Oil changes are ridiculous these days; I have since read several articles where fleet managers are simply not changing full synthetic oil at all....just a filter every year or two or when actual lab tests show it is necessary.
According to "my tiktok research" Valvoline employees are required to use a tool that over tightens the oil filter. You can see other mechanics trying their hardest to remove the oil filter even the last resort of sticking a screwdriver through it so you have extra leverage.
Other mechanics and DIY oil changers say this is bad because it might strip the threads where the oil filter goes.

Edit: I called to the location and they charge $104 for full synthetic oil change, even with a coupon its more expensive than official dealer charge.
