22 cents per battery isn't that bad nowadays. Not every one has Prime or wants to buy 72 batteries to save in order to save that 1 cent per battery.

Because you do not have to buy 72 batteries? Sometimes people just need a couple. Granted the whole $10 minimum at walgreens is a joke but I this work around might still apply

I've had more electronic devices damaged by Energizer and Duracell batteries leaking than the no name "cheaper" batteries so that's all I buy now. I can't remember the last time I've had a battery leakage issue since changing.

My experience is the exact opposite. Almost like clockwork every HF "free" battery pack has leaked while the bigger makers seldom do.

Walgreens has the worst app ever. Twice I put all the info and it kicks me back without completing the order. Same thing happened when I tried to buy Oral b electric toothbrush. Forget about trying to apply coupon code. I called their customer service and the rep said because coupon expires today to which I said fine and I am using it today. Then she just hung up on me.
Rant over heading to computer to buy the batteries. Can't have emotions get in the way of scoring a deal.

Walgreens deals. Not so easy. You have to jump through hoops and rub your stomach and pat your head to qualify.
It's been a while, probably 2010, but walgreens batteries use to come off the same production line as energizer. I attended a corporate presentation in Las Vegas. There was a video showing and it was a point of pride about their quality.

and then in 2011, Consumer Reports declared Walgreens Supercell the worst performing alkaline, out of a dozen tested:

I also buy at Harbor Freight. But need to keep in mind Harbor Freights are especially cheap because they are Zinc Chloride, by far the cheapest, worst, lowest lifespan of any major type of battery.
I haven't had any issues with them but they seem to last about half as long as Alkaline

I still find them to be good batteries & a strong value in low drain devices (like clocks, thermometers, etc)

The same battery manufacturers using different wrappers. Wonder how many "brands" come out of the same plant.
Exactly. I know Duracell makes Kirkland batteries, energizer makes CVS, etc.

Yes, it is amusing when people complain about one brand or the other and it is the exact same battery with a different wrapper! I wonder if someone has compiled a list of what factories make the different brands like you mentioned.

Maybe...if I had something else to buy at Walgreens. Not worth the hassle for me though, there are a few other deals right now for batteries though if you want higher quantities. Search for ACDelco or Rayovac, one is Popular and the other is a Frontpage deal.
