Also available on Amazon for $216.00. The seller is the same as Server Parts Deals, though the Amazon store account is called Tech On Tech.

You can search Google for both names to see all the reddit threads about it, if you're curious.

Cheers.

Tried Seagate Exos, just too loud for my arrangement.

I have the HGST Ultrastar in various sizes, virtually silent.
The Seagate dual actuators Exos Mach.2 are very quiet, almost silent, while the WD Ultrastar DC HC550 are hella loud. That's my experience.

I've used refurb 10 & 12TB Exos drives for one to two years now in two systems (gaming rig and a NAS). My one complaint is that they are enterprise drives, and they are not quiet. However, I was aware of this fact going in. For me, the noise is well worth the trade off for the price.

With a 2 year warranty and my prior experience with Exos refurbs, I'm confident enough to get 9 of these X22's (one for cold spare) and migrate my current RAID over to a backup PC.

For those worried about their drives, Hard Disk Sentinel is an excellent drive monitoring program. It can even monitor my drives through the RAID card (temperatures as well), and I can perform surface scans as well as short and long DSTs on all drives in the array at the same time.

no tax for me either through SPD but eBay does have tax.
SPD = $420 total no tax and free shipping
eBay = $385 which includes the tax and free shipping.

So about $35 savings if that is worth it to you to go through ebay.
Which one should I go with?
I wonder if you can contact them directly to get these white labels without tax?

I've asked in the past and they responded that their ebay market is different than their website. so they issues via ebay or price has to go through that channel.

who knows , maybe they change their policy.

I just received 5 X22 20TB that I ordered from serverpartdeals couple days ago. 1 of them failed with more than 1500 bad sectors, after it was running for couple hours. This is my first time shop from this website. I will update once they respond back on my RMA request.

Thank you and much appreciated in your reporting. I'm deciding between X22 and X20. Part of me wants X22 since they're newer, but it also make me worried as I think there's probably something wrong with them.

Just got my nine X22 20TB Exos in from SPD (server part deals). They were all extremely well packed (as usual), and they all look new except for the green outline label. All powered up, and I've got an eight drive RAID build/verifying that will likely take at least 4 days (if not more), and the ninth drive I've got in an external enclosure running a long DST that will take 28 hours.

I don't expect any issues, but I'll post again if I run into any in the next week.

Hasn't it been substantially cheaper than this? I swear it was like $189.99 for these
Same seller has some white label (what it's called?) on eBay for that price. Not sure on make & model as doesn't list.

X22 arrived today, DOA. Doesn't even power on.

Edit: Company replied to RMA request pretty fast. Drive is on its way back to them. Hopefully the replacement is better.

I sent the hard drive back with a prepaid shipping label they provided. 8 days later, I got my refund. So far so good.
