After your free year of Grubhub+ ends, Grubhub will charge the payment method associated with your Grubhub account on a monthly basis at the then-current rate (currently $9.99/month) plus any applicable tax. You can cancel any time by contacting Grubhub customer support or visiting the "Grubhub+ membership" section in your Grubhub account settings.
I have to admit, I must be too old and too cheap, to understand why picking up the food yourself was such a large daily problem.
Certainly I have had pizza delivered in the past, but it was the same price as picking up, then tip for some gas and time savings.
But ordering delivery so often they offer a frequent user program is hard to understand.

There's a Reditt sub that sells that type stuff or ebay. Bought in both places many many times.

Let's be honest when one drives to get food, you stay local, maybe 5-7 minutes down the road? I can order grub hub that is in the next town and over the bridge, that has no deliveries. 12 minute drive for take out? Most drivers I feel are pros, as the food still comes not, they must have insulated bags. I get you. It is cheaper and faster for near by. This opens places to me that don't make sense for me to drive out to, only to turn around and waste gas and my time. Round trip could be 25 minutes.

Pay close attention to those places where you're supposedly getting free delivery via Grubhub+. You'll notice the prices that they charge are significantly inflated over the normal menu price of those items. This is shameful and dishonest.

There are lots of use cases where paying a few extra bucks for someone else to do your errands is reasonable. If you make 6 figures, have kids, and only have time to see them 2hrs/day on work days, then spending a couple extra bucks to get to play with them instead of driving them to grocery stores/restaurants to get food makes total sense. Also stocking up on 20% off gift cards to eat into that extra cost helps take the bite out of the extra cost as well.

It comes in handy when you've had anything to drink, but there are some people that use these services daily. There are several people in my neighborhood that have vehicles pulling up multiple times a day. I've used these services a few times and it always cost something like [normal price of meal] + $10 for fees and tip. How do you pay this every day? That's crazy.

The only time GrubHub was a useful service was during a global pandemic when people would pay ridiculous fees for cold food. Completely useless.

Are you talking walk in off the street pricing or prices on GrubHub vs GrubHub+?
There will always be higher pricing for these delivery platforms as the charge the merchants average of 30% on orders. They charge the customer fees but none of these platforms use those funds to adequately pay their drivers (who the business depends on to function) adequately since drivers pay for all the gas & vehicle wear/tear to deliver these orders.
Then the entitled POS who y bitch about tipping when they're too lazy to go out @ 1 am in the rain or snow themselves! Protesting "Its not my fault, I'm not supplementing driver pay" yeah you'd be pissed if it was you paying to gas up your car to deliver to a customer who purposefully wastes time, typical no tip behavior! Delaying drivers from orders with tipping customers who respect and appreciate the efforts made on their behalf!

How does grubhub + compare to the door dash membership? Has anyone use both? Currently have a door dash account would be happy to save a year in membership fees.
