I've spent $50,000 on these over the past 3 months. My Costco CB is maxxed out. I think I am tapping. Thanks OP!

Mostly, just that. Unless you are a very established long time customer with a buyer, then you will likely never make anything above the spot price. Everyone is gaining the CC cash back as a means of making up for the fact they bought above the spot price. It's a lot of hustle to make small change. That said, to each their own. It's definitely NOT a get rich scheme! Because of the gaining the cash back on the CC, don't be surprised if they single out precious metals as not eligible for cash back purchases in the near future! Peace

Just an anecdote: yesterday I spent more that hour on the line with Costco support because it appeared that UPS has lost 2 packages with 2 gold bars. At some point point they said "It appears that packages are lost and this is a difficult situation since we cannot resend you the items because they are out of stock and we cannot refund you because they are not refundable". But then it resolved and they said I should expect refund in about a week "because you understand - this is a special situation"
Yeah. If costco won't handle this then your CC will. These needed to be signed when received anyway so there's no porch pirate

The credit card won't have the ability to single out precious metals when the purchase codes the same as any other purchase at Costco.

This premium is less worthwhile for flipping, but still excellent for meeting CC minimum spend requirements. I've knocked out like $20k in spend requirements in a few months along with a bit of profit (maybe $200).

I was confused how Costco could afford to sell with such a low premium while still accepting credit cards. Then I looked it up and they have an exclusive deal with Visa at a reported 0.4% CC processing fee (most merchants pay 1.5-2.5%+) So they're only eating ~$8 per bar sold in CC fees.

That said, I still doubt they're making much money on these, at least for Executive members. But I'll keep riding the train!

True, though I could see Costco excluding these from Executive rewards. I'm surprised they haven't already.

Yeah, they take Visa and Mastercard online - Visa only in stores.
It used to be Amex only but they switched to Visa years ago.
