Good deal! Ordered the white. Have been keeping an eye on it and this is the cheapest I have seen recently. Plus no tax using Payboo.

per google search this is a saving of $70+

amazon is $245

user manual [apc.com]

looks like the only big difference between the regular 1500 sine wave and this gaming unit is the fancy status runtime led circle on the front

regular apc sine wave 1500 $270 [amazon.com]

isn't this the same model that was blowing up and failing on a big percentage of owners? They made a new amazon listing but the model number seems to match up for the same product with horrible reviews.

What makes this worth more than the CyberPower deal? Looks pretty similar.

Don't know about the worth it part, but my experience is Cyberpower UPS will not even function as a surge protector when the battery goes, but my previous APC units did. I am slowly switching back to APC due to that.

Wonder if it can help with devices such as laser printer that draw a lot of power when printing and making lights flicker.

I have the normal pure sine wave APC for my son's gaming PC but each time there's a power blip the computer shuts down. It detects the change from grid to battery power and it shuts down. All other connected devices are fine. I also tried a Cyber Power pure sine wave and had the same issue. I guess his power supply is too sensitive. I don't think this one will do any better, even though it's labeled "gaming".

well, I learned my lesson with cyberpower. Had a 1500 UPS blow up shortly after I got home one day. they replaced it with a refurb as it was just inside 3 years. the refurb lasted all of 3 months. their so-called customer service is TOTALLY SHITTY!!! I had to get verrry nasty and yell at them. only after i opened a handfull of tickets did they respond. they first wanted to send a battery which wasnt going to fix it, then they didnt want to exchange for the same unit, but a lesser unit. i washed my hands of them and will share my experience with others so they dont have to. i started out with apc, but wanted to try cyberpower... back to apc.

NO!!! never do that unless you want a fire, due to current pull. if you are experiencing flickering light from the laser printer then that circuit is over loading and you need to put the laser printer on a different circuit or even its own circuit.

also, led lights are very sensitive to power dips.

That's normally caused by something else. If you have the lights on a dimmer switch, that's most likely the problem. A different dimmer will probably not fix the issue unfortunately, but changing to a simple light switch will. The dimmer is limiting the electrical current to the fixture and bulb (if present). Anything drawing a high wattage abruptly will make it difficult for the dimmer to compensate the same. If you want to keep the dimmers as is, you should move the printer to an outlet that's not tied to your lights.

No laser printers are not meant for use in a UPS or at least they weren't when I got certified decades ago and have found issues resolved due to it w high end color laser printers over the years
