Any expert advice on unlocking way, and how long we have to stick with them for monthly plan payments?

in the past, you could downgrade to the $30 plan but they disabled that loop hole.
Unless someone else can chime in

I've been a Cricket customer for 8 years now. Back in February of this year, they offered an upgrade to the iPhone 11 for $199. I can't believe they're still charging $499 for them today as an upgrade. Wish they'd throw me that $199 bone again!

OP, great to see you make a first post so soon after joining! In case it would be helpful for you to know why there's so many down votes, it's that there's key information and pricing missing from the title. The iPhone $99 requires a port-in and 6 months of service (both pieces of info need to be in the title), the first of which has to be the $60 a month plan (another commenter indicates it has to stay at the $60 plan or above, but I don't see that in the fine print: Remaining $60 will be credited to your account and applied to second month service unless used on other eligible service or features. Account will remain subscribed to $60/mo. plan for two months.). So in total, this phone costs at a minimum $339 and likely (based on other commenters post) $459 until it's unlocked (Phone may be restricted to Cricket network until completion of 6 months of service after activation.). For someone who is staying with Cricket, this might be a good deal, but for most Slickdealsers, we are looking for phones we can get unlocked and use on other carriers, which means for us the total is the cost of the phone and the minimum amount of service, making this a very poor deal. But this post wouldn't have been TD if the information about the port in and number of months of service had been in the title.
