Thanks. Picking up as many of my favorite movies on 4K UHD Blu-Rays as possible while they're on sale/clearance. I know I'm a dinosaur in that mentality, but I just love the quality of disk vs. streaming. Even with very fast internet, it is sometimes quite a difference. That, and I'll always have the movie and not being dependent on any streaming service.

Wasn't going to double dip on these but as a massive steelbook collector this price makes it hard..

These are either the 2019 or 2011 version most likely.

Yes - don't mean that sarcastically but usually steelbooks have custom artwork. The ones for these are pretty meh. Generally people collect them.

star wars is SOLD OUT so quickly. I able to pick up 1 out of 3. Likely return it. Can't not complete Trio set.
I looked at this post 12 1/2 Hours ago and saw only Return of the Jedi available in CT the rest were in NY.

So are these the OG cuts or the CGI-enhanced ones?
The despecialized versions are freely available. I watched them on a projector with a 120" screen and they never looked better.

Picked up the Star Wars trilogy 2 weeks ago for $16 each. All sold out so can I just return in store and rebuy at this price?

I did the same with basically all the DIsney animated movies. No need to go through the hassle, I had a CSR PM their own price. In fact, I even mentioned if they could do me a solid and avoid the hassle of going in to the store, go from pickup, straight to returns, and then rebuy them all again at the new price.

I was given the PM's without any issue whatsoever. If a lazy CSR denies you, keep trying until you find one that has the ability to reason and use logic.Wink

Well what is sure is that Mickey Mouse, after 95 years, has become public domain.

I already bought them all on VHS, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K. When's the 8K version coming?

Does it have to be in stock for them to PM? Can't submit the automated form, it says it's not eligible - guess I'll have to chat when the support agents are available?

I had 13 of these steelbooks ordered for pickup when they were $16.99. I kept extending the pickup date and thankfully I saw this topic before picking up today. I just PM'd online and will receive a refund north of $100! Thanks a bunch OP!
How many times and how many days can you extend the pickup date?
I've placed an order for pickup today, but it's 30 miles away from me. I hope the nearest Best Buy will restock it in the next few weeks, but it's unlikely since Best Buy will be phasing out physical media in 2024. Anyway, I'll keep extending it and hope for the best.

If you were around for VHS then wasting money on 8K is probably not a good idea... you'll be old enough that your old eyes won't be able to see the difference anyway... just use a good 8K upscaler.

100% accurate. The blacks on a stream aren't pure blacks and the audio no matter what anyone says is still compressed on a stream.

Plus, the inconsistency amongst streaming services (in terms of picture quality) is far too noticeable!

I had already bought a few of these during the last sale on 11/26 (including the Star Wars movies for $16.99), but for $10 I went ahead and finished getting them all. I just got off of a 40 minute call with BB CS to get refunded the difference in the 11 I had purchased back then. 40 minutes on hold was worth the $72 I'm getting back.

What exactly is the point of Steelbook? Is it just a cool case? Or considered to be collector's/limited edition?
People collect them to brag they got a great collection.

Other people buy for peace of mind knowing their movies are in protective cover that will keep their movies from getting scratched and or damaged.
( that is until they open their heavily damaged package in the mail ) where the shipper used a plastic bag mailer to send economy shipping. Steelbooks get all dented up and the disk inside is rattling off its cradle.

Other people just got to collect like Poke'mon " gotta chatch them all !!! "

Most people buy them , redeem the digital codes and shelve them forever, forgetting they ever got them.
