In store purchase- Got the iphone 12 for $99, + tax and $60 for 1 month plan. Called the store before going there for no activation fee which they confirmed on call but charged $10 for eSIM after arrival. Though they did not push for 2 month unlimited plan.
Total paid: $178 for phone and 1 month plan.
I got the phone today. Looks like there's a place you can enter your referral code. It started my 60 days to getting $25 credit.
Bad news: I tried to downgrade immediately. It would not let me until the next bill cycle. So it seems like I'm stuck with $60 unlimited plan, but then it will switch over to the $30/m plan. This means I got 3 months covered. Hopefully, I can get at least 3 more referrals within the next 30 days.

It seems like users suggested to call and downgrade. In the past you could do it online but that glitch was closed. I was not aware you could call and downgrade but some mentioned they downgraded that way
After looking into this deal, I just realized it's a raw deal for existing customers. The fact that new users are subject to selecting a $60 plan and pay that over 2 months to be eligible for this deal is an insult and I would rather find a better iPhone 12 deal elsewhere.

I considered calling, but it seems like a hassle. It'll probably be easier to find 3 more people to use my code so I'll have the $100 credit to cover the last 3 months of active service.
Side question: Is it against TOS to try to give away my code here???
