You can clean it as much as you want, but tbh it stays very clean in general. It actually saves so much time it's crazy.

Yes, expensive initially, but holy sht has it improved my life dramatically. I even bought a 2nd one (after saving for a while). That's how amazing it is.

Could never go back to manual scooping. Could never go back to spending all that time and effort with manual litter boxes.

Also as someone else mentioned, WHITE is the color you want. Less litter dust shows up, looks much cleaner, blends in with walls better, etc.
4th gen (this) is a huge upgrade. I originally had 3rd gen and was like "meh", it was louder than I wanted and had more sensor issues than I expected. Traded it in for this gen4 (Litter Robot 4) and was like WOA, now this is exactly what I wanted and it should have been.

LR4 is a huge upgrade from LR3. Night and day difference from my experience. I love my LR4 and bought a 2nd.

To the post saying this is as much as a washing machine, yep, and saves you tons of time and money just like one too. My perspective type comment is this is as much as 1 car payment, but you get this forever (until it wears out anyways).

- Money - It has saved me tons of $$$ in litter costs. My litter is used much less because it is more efficient at taking only the dirty clumps repeatedly. I would estimate I use 1/3rd of the litter I did before. So 66% money back in my pocket is nice and pays for the LR cost over time. Litter is not cheap.

- Time - it takes me 30sec to empty the LR4 tray and toss it versus the 5-10min to get my scooper and bag, sit next to a litter box, and dig for treasure until there is none left. Sure, a 5-10min savings once or twice a day isn't huge - but it adds up. Also, the process with the LR4 is way cleaner. When I manually scoop, oh my, it can get messy. I usually have to sweep and shower afterward. The LR4 process, I just wash my hands afterward. So take that into time account too. It is also laborious, sitting down, scrunching around for those nuggets, etc. My knees aren't what they used to be, so it saves me some physical strain too.

To me this is one of those things you truly don't understand how useful it is and quality of life increase until you get it. I highly recommend.
$750 from PetSmart, but they have an offer for 40k bonus treat points, plus normal treats earn is $115 in store credit. Cash back sites currently have at least 12% back from PetSmart (Litter Robot isn't excluded) and has been as high as 20% over the holidays. Check credit cards for offers that would stack, or use PayPal 5% on Chase Freedom if you still have it. Note that PetSmart may only offer store credit on PayPal returns... Litter Robot may be exempted from some data points I saw, but best to confirm with them.

Also the core bundle isn't worth near $50 IMO, so I'd just buy the base unit and buy a mat for $15 and cleaner for $10. You can use Costco clear (be sure they're clear) 10-13 gal waste bags and save a lot versus buying Whisker's bags.

A bit better of a deal, but do note that if you don't buy direct from Whisker you don't get the 90 day trial, so if your cat doesn't like it you're going to have to resell privately. Would recommend just biting the bullet and buying from Whisker unless you're just upgrading/replacing an existing Litter Robot.

Nearly any trash bag. It needs to fit over the opening.

I paid $355 for the Puramax in July. Currently on sale for $379 - much better option I think!
Do you have a link for this?

I've had every model of the robot including this latest model and still have the 3rd model as a backup.

When they work they overall work well and do a job the problem is they don't last long before problems start occurring for the majority of users. Most common is sensor issues where depending on your model the literal but will do a start stop other times it will just completely get stuck halfway through a cycle where the cats can't go in it but the bottom part opening is exposed. Best thing I can tell anyone is is it worth it if you have cats yes especially multiple cats but make sure you get the extended warranty as more than likely you will be using it.
Seems like my experience with any "smart" cat device. It's always neat when it works, but when it doesn't because it's stuck or something, it's hell to get it to work. I got an automatic cat feeder, and the damn thing jammed while we were away, causing the cat to not have food for a day.

Puramax has it's issues too. The gaps actually leak during cleaning. it's a PITA to clean. I have the Pura X and the dump chute is close to the rotating cylinder that if you let the dump stack, it'll just smother all over the cylinder during cycle.

These things should not cost more than $200.
I try to justify the high cost of this thing and can only come up with is fark it, it works for Dyson.

to put things in perspective, this is the same price as a washing machine.
Dishwasher too, and people love these appliances because they are convenient and time savers.

I have an LR3 and roborock vacuum that cleans around the LR3 daily. Sure I could use a plain litter box, broom and dust bin, but I don't have to. It's worth the ~$20/month of cost for me.

Try this, this should last 3 years. $650/1095 days = ~$0.60 a day. That is how I justify it.

I was going through 2 boxes a month with 2 cats, now I go through 10 boxes per year. So it saves me around $300/year in litter.

I've had it for almost 10 years. Has paid for itself many times over.

I have a gen 3. These are great for people who have multiple cats who dont have the ability to constantly clean the little box. But it creates problems where it solves them.
1- this thing is big, its roughly the size of a small fridge, so putting it anywhere is a bit of a task
2- its basically a cat sh** collections. After about 3 days, you have a lot of cat sh** just sitting there, and it smells
3- it doesnt stay as clean as people imply, and the smell of nasty cat little kind of gets stuck in it regardless how much you clean it.
4- if your cat is messy, it might now work out well for you. Our cats would get litter everywhere, and 1 cat would climb in and pee out the openspace (basically on the floor in front of the little box).
5- some cats just dont like it.
6- glitchy. App stopped working, I had to get my base replaced because it stopped working like normal.

Overall, I like it. I got one and put it outside in a storage container. It takes care of the smell issue.
