Local sub shop cranks out fully belly size sandwiches for 6 bucks, sells sides for 3 bucks, and drinks for 2.
So if "better" is based on calories, its close. If its based on overall experience, nearly all sandwich places will be better.
If you want just food, get a Wal-Mart sandwich. 7 bucks, over 14 inches, tons of bread, and lots of bloating.

Jimmy John's near me is $6-8 and you can add a ton of toppings for free and they actually layer the meat.
Jersey Mike's regular is as filling as a footlong and has more meat for the same price. Toppings, meat, and bread all taste significantly better.
