I was at Home Depot the other day and they had these 100 ft hoses that are $69.99 normally on clearance for $9.90. I bought 4 of them. There was a ton left at the store in Eugene Oregon. Also a lot of the sprayers and sprinklers were on deep clearance as well. There is a marine /rv hose also that is 75% off.

"aluminum couplers" UM not the best when most people are connecting to brass faucets.

Read reviews after considering this; hard pass. There is good reason these are on clearance.

If it's a flat black hose like rubber tire after a few years they degrade and tut your hands black

Bought two of them for my parents house a decade ago for $20 and they are awesome. Need some hoses for my new place now and want something similar. Too bad the quality isn't the same anymore.

Less lead, at least.

The point was https://www.sciencedirect.com/top...-corrosion
copper/brass and aluminum don't mix well when water is introduced. The two can fuse together and be a real PITA to separate.

Yes, I realize that, but lead is also an issue.

One of my hoses is a flexzilla, which has aluminum fittings. I disconnect and reconnect it every few weeks, and that seems to work. Seems like a negligible issue compared to increased exposure to lead. The better option, of course, would be to change the faucet to something lead-free and get a compatible hose.

I've seen instances where aluminum couplers connected to brass hose bibs long term will seize over time. Electrolysis between the 2 metals creates corrosive swelling at the threads that can make the hose impossible to unscrew and require extreme measures to remove it without damaging the hose bib. Carefully cutting it with a Dremel to loosen the threads seems to be the least intrusive method, but the bib threads could take some collateral damage unless you're extremely careful. Of course the hose end will need replacement at that point, and repaired hoses never seem to be as reliable.

No worries, though, if you disconnect your hose after each use.

$10 bucks for a 100' hose? I'm in aluminum or not...you can always get "quick connections" made of plastic or brass....harbor freight sells them

Can't you just put plastic adapter on both ends?
