Since this and several other Ryobi tools aren't (this not until recently) sold in America, overseas Vendors probably do offer replacement pieces.
I've been using mine for almost three years, on everything from oak to palm, sharpened the blade once.
The motor will stop and retract if the branch is too tough, so I keep the jaws on the first cut, and trigger again, and again, and again, until it eventually cuts through.
I've never had it twist the branch …. It either cuts it, or it doesn't cut it …. no bending of the jaws.
If it fits in the jaws, it'll cut it … it might take two, maybe more triggers to get it cut, but it WILL cut it.
Manual loppers can be Widow Makers, when a fellow over exerts himself with a valsalva maneuver, not knowing he's got blocked coronary arteries, and keels over with a heart attack.
I HIGHLY recommend getting this for the "little bit" older dad/husband/guy friend who works in his yard like he's still in his 20's.
There's also a lopper with an extended reach, it's on CPO for $$$
This is an excellent price …. Paid almost 300$ for mine, had it imported from Europe because Ryobi didn't offer this tool here, at that time.

It seems silly - but it made the job so fast and easy. Very pleased with the extended lopper... Must resist...
