You can use Free Fillable Forms (https://www.irs.gov/e-file-provid...able-forms) - which is provided for free by the IRS with no income limits and free e-filing. I usually use TurboTax (free as long as you don't file) to check my numbers and to make sure i filled out everything correctly
Deluxe Desktop does stock transaction downloads you do not need premier desktop. Deluxe ONLINE version doesnt handle stocks and you need Premier ONLINE for stock transactions. Intuit does this on purpose to confuse people.

In a case like mine, the better deal is to forego the $10 gift card and instead use your Amazon no-rush credit bonus. Mine this year was $27 which means I was able to order Home and Business for $51 after tax.
Hi there,
We're reaching out to our TurboTax Desktop customers to share an important change to how you'll install and activate your software this upcoming 2023 tax season.
To install and activate TurboTax 2023 on your computer, you'll be prompted to sign in to your existing Intuit Account (or create an account if you don't already have one) before entering your license code. The software won't install unless you sign in to your Intuit Account online. Importantly, your product license code can only be associated with one Intuit Account.
Your license code will then be stored in your Intuit Account, should you need to install the software again.

So we have to pony up MORE money ($25) to e-file a State Return? Seems like this product should be adequate 🤔

But you can often still manually type in the state tax results from TurboTax on your state's website and submit there.
That's how I have done it as I don't want to pay for something which should be standard and in everybody's interest in 2023 (and in 2022, 2021....).

Can anyone confirm the same on the download version for this year?

So I went ahead and took the plunge to buy the download version. This makes a zip file available to download (TurboTax_Deluxe_2023_Tax_Software_Federal__State_Tax_Return_Amazon_Exclusive_PC-Mac_Download.zip). The zip file contains two files: Windows_PC_TurboTax_Download.exe, Mac_TurboTax_Download.dmg. So it looks like there won't be any issue to install on both a PC and Mac.

I didn't see the fine print where it says I still have to be a Prime member to use no-rush credits.
Last two times (last year and on Nov. 25 this year) if you added the downloadable version to your card along with the physical disc version, then removed the downloadable one, you were able to get free shipping if you were a non-Prime member. That trick doesn't work this time around.
Two years ago I had to call customer service before finalizing the order for the disc and gift card, and they were able to credit or remove the shipping charge.
Has anyone found a technique this year to remove the shipping charge from the cart for non-Prime members?
Edgar
Depends on your billing address for your credit card.
