Gotta love our corrupt system, causing people to spend millions of extra dollars and God knows how many man-hours filing tax returns that really have no reason to exist in this day and age.

But again, all this is wishful thinking and I don't think there's willingness in our Govt to do it - especially due to the lobbying by these companies and CPAs. Good luck for your tax season. Peace.
I do not charge for any tax services I provide as it is not my source of income so you assuming so makes you look ignorant.
> You paid to a qualified daycare facility and have 2 kids that go there, here's your credit.
How does the government know how much you paid? The government is explicit when saying you can not reply on others to submit their information to the government for the calculation of your taxes.
> each of these recipient entities need to upload their side of transactions too so that all these can be automatically reconciled
Uploaded when, at the April 15th deadline like everyone else? So when will reconciliation really be done? And then is the business is wrong you just punished the family doing their taxes because the items will not reconcile. Crap in crap out.
Your ideas are just additional ways to force people who shouldnt pay more to pay more because you are pushing laziness on people.
You can. If you work a W2 job you modify your withholdings so you keep more every paycheck to pay for such items. So instead of getting money back at the end of the year, you are getting it back throughout the year. Problem solved. Or are you saying you rather have the government take that money and give it to the entities they want to instead of having it in your pocket so you choose?

Exactly.
The gov should provide free tax prep software, and the IRS has finally been allowed to start a pilot at providing it this year.

I can't tell you how often I've gotten AMZ stuff for free b/c their fulfillment "robots" mess up & then their CS dept credits me back in full. Even better is when a seller messes up their listing and AMZ full credits the order as received no described.
It's typically under $50 - $70 when it happens, and they never ask for the merch to be returned. It's not earth shaking, but it happens often enough that with each order, I cross my fingers and hope for a problem.
