Direct from valve with true warranty support it's $280. But hard to find in stock.
GameStop support will be nearly non existent.

Hopefully they'll maintain backward compatibility, as there are a lot of really good Switch games.

With a Switch 2, I'd bet there will be a new swath of games at full price which defeats my purpose. I was hoping to get some good deals for used games on Switch 1. I can only hope for backwards compatibility at this point.
Of course, if you spring for the OLED model, you also get built-in HDR while streaming. If you plan on a lot of remote play, I'd actually suggest the OLED deck over the Portal due to HDR, with the added bonus of playing a whole bunch of other stuff, too.
Same gaming performance, but since they use a smaller nm processor, you get better battery life, and obviously you mentioned better wifi.
For that price you could buy an OLED switch AND a Portal!

I had to buy a 1 TB SD card to make it playable. I also had to do some tweaking to make the shaders install on the SD card, as they natively install on the internal memory and eat it up pretty quickly.

I think the 64gb model is great as it's a lower pricepoint for entrance and you can swap the NVMe drive to 1tb for $60 (or a sale of ~$45).
If you don't want to open the SD, I agree though, you really should only consider the 265gb one.
Word of caution though, MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE YOUR mSD CARD IF OPENING THE SD. So many people have snapped/broken their mSD card by forcing it. Heck, a friend of mine broke the mSD slot by leaving the mSD in it!

This doesnt mean you have to dislike the portal, but it also doesnt make them (the portal screen and an oled) a "close" comparison.
