Yes, some people just don't know what they're doing.

One thing to note though, there's a difference between Costco Same-Day powered by Instacart and ordering Costco through the Instacart app. Once you redeem the credits on one, you can't transfer them around, even if you link the accounts. Based on personal experience, I recommend redeeming them on Instacart directly rather than via Costco Same-Day, that way, you can use them for any store available on Instacart instead of being confined to Costco only. The prices for Costco are also identical on both once you sign in and link your Costco membership info.

Other than deals, I don't get who in their right minds would order Instacart. I joined Insta just for the heck of it to see what it's all about and almost every store that's there has high prices when compared to in-store prices. Case in point, let's take Costco for example and 3 of the most popular items at Costco. Kirkland Premium Towels, Kirkland Bath Tissue and Kirkland Water. The in-store prices are 19.49, 19.99 and 3.00 respectively. The Instacart prices are 24.25, 24.25 and 4.96. For Instacart, also add the Service Fee $1.5x, The Delivery Fee (if you are not a + member) $20-$40 and for something that would have cost you $43.47 pre-tax would cost you the Instacart Membership Fee (if you are a member) + $55.06 + Delivery Fee (If you are not a member). So even if they send out $40 or $50 coupons, unless there is a deal with a good or similar price to the in-store prices, the higher prices, the service fee and the delivery fee will easily eat the coupon. So the question remains, why would you pay these ridiculously high prices for stuff that you can either usually get from Amazon or a store near-by.
We have ordered same day Costco through instant cart, and it was the same price as their website. If you use instant cart right, it's a huge win.

Not too shabby! This deal brings Instacart orders down to full retail like shopping inside the grocery store.

Avoid investing in Instacart gift cards. Instacart is notorious for locking customers accounts with gift cards and refusing to unlock or provide the reason for the ban

Edited. Guess being so new to Instacart, I don't exactly know how to use it.
For me, I use the credits to do pickup from Aldi. Prices are very similar. Milk is 20 cents more on Instacart than the Aldi website... a dozen eggs was 10 cents less. Fee for pickup is $4, so I figure I come out a bit ahead with the 20% off- more if there's a coupon. Otherwise, I'm looking to stack with a coupon.

Mods for some reason didn't merge this with the previous FP deal.

If you already bought these gift cards, the limit is 2. So, consider that when you try to buy more. It will get cancelled if you exceed 2. It will accept the order, but you will get a cancellation notice shortly thereafter.
In a way, that is correct as well as not. Since Thanksgiving, Costco has been running discounted Instacart gift cards many times ( and they have popped up every time in SD pages) First time, of course it worked. Second time, order went through but it was cancelled. I tried my luck again today and it worked. So YMMV. I would advise anyone even mildly interested, to place the order and let costco internal system decide, if you are eligible to rebuy another time.

I was calculating the 20% discount, contrasted with the tip, increase in cost for online products by costco, increase in cost for all products by instacart, including the membership fee to just shop there, and I just can't get to the upside here.
I can drive next door to harris teeter, publix, or any other high end hole and get better food for less than their delivery.
Costco needs to unscrew their shipping or Amazon and Walmart/Sams are going to end up owning them for pennies on the dollar. At least Walmart/Sams knows they F'ed up. Costco is leaning into 3rd party vampires fking up their products.
You know what I saw today? At both Costco and Sams club, there was a line of people waiting on the rotisserie chicken, at both places. They weren't buying anything else. Just that.
And this is where we are now. Costco needs to stop dicking around with their pricing as their stores are now looking like soup kitchens. It's morally wrong, and it aggravates the few people left with money.

Only concern is: Will Instacart go bankrupt soon? Seems like they are breaking up with Walmart?

Agree here. Bought two around Black Friday and also purchased another two last week. Total of 4 within a month no cancel.

Prices are nearly identical .. I tested this yesterday as at checkout the Instacart app itself recommended shopping directly through the Costco 'same day' function in the Costco app for the lowest pricing. I duplicated carts in both places and what I found to be the difference was the alcohol pricing. Came out to about a $3 difference in carts, but Instacart gave a $2 discount for choosing a 3 hour delivery window and I had already applied my gc within the Instacart app so that's how it went for me. Seemed like all the particular store products I chose that weren't alcohol though were exactly the same price between the two apps.

Did this last week with AirPods deal. Plus chase $15 back on Instacart.

All in after tax was like $160 or so for the AirPods Pro 2 usb c.
I got my Airpods Pro 2 usb c for $106 from Amazon with $100 off coupon for Amzn biz account.

FWIW I was able to buy and successfully redeem 2 the last time this popped up on 12/15, and also 2 more today. I did use a different credit card for the two purchases, but same membership.
