You must not read what I said. I clearly mentioned from what I have seen you might need a graphics card, but SDers sometimes know a way around. Didn't mean to upset you.
Really wish they come out with an hdmi 2.1 sync box so we can take advantage of 4k 120hz
Someone needs a snickers.

It clearly says for monitors. It's a gaming light setup for PC. Would have taken 20 seconds to click the link and see that.
Wow, who pissed in your cereal? They clearly realized this is made for monitors but we're trying to see if it'll work otherwise. Clearly reading comprehension isn't one of YOUR strong suits.

Haven't figured out yet whether it's an improvement over calling everything "bespoke", "biological", "pumpkin", or whatever other is popular atm.

Exactly what I wanted to know. Wanted to see if it functions with regular TV to watch movies. Did you have to do anything special to set it up for it to react with the movie?

I am using firetv and nvidia shield and Apple TV, all work great. If you will be using your tv native apps it will not work. On the Govee app I just use the video option when watching tv.

I have the PC light strip and it's awesome, I just had to install govee software to make the sync work. I'm trying to understand the use case for the sync boxes. Is it for consoles?

I have Lytmi and really like it. They have multiple versions of it now depending on your needs.
I second the Lytmi, mine does have the Neo sync box that I use on my 65" Samsung; there is an updated model currently available that has more inputs. Works flawlessly, I use it when I watch movies and console gaming.

Can't you just buy this kit and buy a separate light strip for a larger TV? 🤔
From what I've read, no, the box is made to work for a specific number of LEDs. Some of the strip might not light up.

Will this not work straight to TV for movies? I am thinking from reviews you need some sort of graphics card.

You're actually wrong on this one. This review explains the AI feature and out actually seems legit: https://youtu.be/LoT31LGER2Y?feat...ared&t=375

I purchased the TV kit for 55-65" and it fits a 55" edge to edge but on a 65" it'll be shorter and more recessed from the border. Technically speaking you could affix the monitor kit to an 85" tv but it wouldn't look good.

I tried it edge to edge and slightly recessed and the light produced appears better from all angles when it is recessed about 1.5", when it was on the edge depending on where you are sitting it bleeds.

I can't believe that you had to spell it out for them like that. It clearly states that it's for monitors, so why would they expect it to work for any hdmi video device? These are probably the same people who try to use gaming headphones for casually listening to music or taking zoom calls. Clearly it states "gaming" so why would anyone try to play non-gaming sounds on it or use it with something other than a 1337 gaming system for its intended and stated purpose. n00bs!
