Read some reviews and watched a vid, they all said it's handle is too heavy, is a beginner knife that should be used for prep and brut work.

Listing says the balde is forged and tempered, but by at the pic it looks stamped to me. Most likely is using german steel, but who cares if it's stamped and not made by a pro german bladesmith.

Probabaly a decent knife if you don't cook often or need something cheap for grunt work around your kitchen.

Personnaly, the stupid graphic on the pommel is a turn off...I will be avoiding all Babish knives.

When they say forged on cheap knives they are all forged with stamping machines...even wustoff is just using dies and stamping it to shape then grinding the rest

Design-wise., looks like knock-off of Shun Classic series knifes. I'm sure they sell them under different brand names all over the world...

Amazon is in the low-cost chef's knife game. They have an 8" forged chef's knife that's made in Japan. I'm curious as it's only $13.19. I just bought that $39 deal from BB&B, the Zwilling 8" (which I love by the way). I might be crazy, but the Amazon offer intrigues me. https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Bas...r=1-1&th=1

Ah, misprint in the description then. It did sound too good to be true.

I used my WÜSTHOF knife for 15 years and it is still super sharp and looks like brand new. Germans are good at making knives.

Guys, it's $17. Of course it's not a high end perfectly balanced Thanos chef knife. It's great for the price.

I've got two of their other knives (7.5" Clef and the Santoku) and and I think they are great bang forx the buck. They hold an edge and I enjoy that it has a little weight to it I'll probably pick this one up as well.
