I have these (In blue) and just note that these are trail running shoes, I use them on trails when they are softer, and in the snow (great for traction). But be aware that these are TRAIL shoes and you will not want to run on hard surfaces as they feel more jarring on hard surfaces than a regular running shoe. During the summer when the trails are dry and compacted I will use a regular running shoe over these.

Divides are a good in-between. I've only tried these on, but like you said, cascades were stiff! Divides were comfy to me, similar to my adrenaline's. On the site brooks states that divides are a good dirt road / road running shoe, not necessarily an all out trail shoe, but many people don't need all all trail shoe grip either.
Great choice if your goal is trail running or hiking. Specially good for trails with large gravel/rocks. My go to shoe for longer trail runs. Not for road runs IMO.

I run in glycerine but for whatever reason I love these for just normal shoes. Have been wearing them for around 5 years now. Got a few pair of these and they're as good as ever.

what width are you running in? i love these but would love some road shoes, no shoe has ever fit me better than this 2E but im strugglign to find an equivalent road shoe thats as wide and comfy... hence iend up using these on the road :/

I have the Brooks Ghost 15 in 2E and they're possibly the best shoes I've ever owned.

I love the comfort of Brooks and usually get Ghosts in 2E. This Christmas my wife got a pair of 16s that weren't 2E and while they're comfortable, I mentally am just going "....why couldn't they be wide?!??!" It's the definition of "fine", but not legendary.
I recommend Ghosts in Wide, though I also know that all styles somehow don't come in wide...
Thank you. I am not a runner but these are fantastic for daily shoes as well. I have an older Cascadia model that I wear to work and this is a steal for these.
The Cascadia 15 were maybe my favorite trail/disc golf shoe of all time.
I tried a pair of the Cascadia 16s, and they just make my feet hurt. I wear a large size (15), and the arch just doesn't quite feel like it's in the right spot on this latest model. But I run into that problem on about half the shoes I buy, so it's probably me.
I guess I'll say this to try and make this into useful advice for a small group of people: if you loved the 15s and have a large shoe size, you might not love the 16s.

Had these for awhile. I put about 100 miles on pavement and gravel, then did tour du Mont Blanc(TMB). As others stated, not too great for pavement as it doesn't compare with regular running shoes but doable. For TMB, the trek on pavement was pretty bad, but on the gravelly bits, the shoes did very well for about 8 days. Thereafter, every rock hurt and I started getting blisters. I would go again with a fresh pair if that's some sort of indication of a recommendation. On another note, Brooks's mesh webbing is the not great as I started to develop a hole on the top of the shoe even before TMB.
Brooks is a fine shoemaker, but don't expect it to last long at all.
