Yeah, SD has become Reddit….people more interested in making funny comments than discussing the subject of the thread. It gets annoying fast.
So many ignorant and irrelevant comments about this travel deal.

Great price, if you're looking to go to Cancun from Philly.

Yup, largely the same people. Very easy to spot. They all use the same words and phrases.

So much fun to be seated separately from family while traveling on a vacation.
Other option - pay through your nose for a "feature" that should be the most common sense basic requirement for flying with family.

I personally know someone that was a tourist killed in crossfire and not a single American outlet reported on it. I was under the impression that an American getting killed was a big deal down there for the reason you just said but it gets swept under the rug way more than you think. Their intention may be to not invoke American influence into their country but the random armed cartel infantry on the ground doesn't really check passports in a gunfight.

I went to an all-inclusive my first time two years ago in Cancun and then the next year in Cozumel - it was the worst food I've ever had in my life, and I have pretty low standards. Both places served the most bland and boring food ever and most things on the menu/cafeteria were not even edible.

All-inclusives only make sense if you're traveling with a large group of people because there's no wasted time trying to decide a restaurant or what to cook, just do whatever the majority wants because the food sucks no matter where you go. If you're just a couple or small group then get a condo and prepare your own food or go to restaurants and eat real Mexican food.
What I've learned is that the quality of the food changes drastically based on the price/reputation of the resort. I too had a bad experience with food at what I thought was a decent rated all inclusive in Jamaica but I learned there's a lot of review inflation and you really have to go to the nicer places for good food.

Everything is a scam and overpriced in Quintana Roo. Plus you're funding the corrupt cartels.
