Great price. If standard electric fits your needs, I sure would strongly consider these. However, the warranty is complete BS, doesn't cover labor and requires you to ship the heater back. Also requires 2 anode rods be inspected/replaced yearly. Hope you have an impact wrench and good overhead clearance. If you can't install this yourself, don't bother, stick with an established brand. Very unboschlike, these heaters.
I was looking @ Reeme to replace / convert from GAS tank to electric so I can drop local gas utility that charges $42/mo "connection fee". I will sell soon and this saved 100 I can apply to running the electric. Dropping GAS connection fee will pay for itself 1 yr.

"technically" that is true with most other brands.AOSmith Rheem is same.

That seems like a smart economic decision, but I feel compelled to say that "connection fees" aren't really scams, but just a way to make sure everyone pays for the maintenance of the system regardless of the quantity of use. I'd still go all electric, though, if you're not at risk of blackouts.

I am sure it is local but: NOT everyone is charged the "connection fee". I was NOT b4 moving to this house 30 yrs ago. I have a recent neighbor maybe 5 yrs now that is NOT being charged the "connection fee". It may have something to do with starting with deposit on file to insure payment and credit. But even after removing the deposit I was NOT charged "connection fee" until I moved and then suddenly I have "connection fee" charge. SAME utility.
Even the utility says ALL pay the "connection fee": But a few yrs maybe 10 the double the price of gas b4 winter and many could NOT pay their bill. I was NOT one of them.
I guess it could also be only LOW usage pay it. My GAS usage is always UNDER $10 month. I only use gas for water heater. I use electric for house heat.

I have this water heater for more than 12 years. Mine was Bosch - then the name changed to Ariston but the design is the same. I had to change the only anode every 2 years and it can be changed right at the front (remove couple screws to take out the heater element/anode assembly) but that can be messy as water would spill out. I typically just undo the hoses and take out the whole unit for easier cleaning of the anode crud in the bottom. I may buy just to have a spare unit.
Electric connected yesterday and Installed. Very quiet.
Lower thermostat set considerably higher than upper.
Noticed Old Dominion Freight Line making another deliver next neighborhood.
Lowes seems to go in and out of stock randomly now. They must be selling a LOT.
Many people need water heaters replaced.
Sold my 7yo 40 gallon gas water heater on marketplace for 100. Loaded and gone about 3 hrs. Many responses but the 2nd took it. Others nice except 1 that could NOT read "PENDING PICKUP".
