Coupon also works on the Litter Robot 3 Connect, which would be $440 after discount.

I have both, and the main advantage of the 4 is the motor is significantly quieter when cycling. IMO that alone is worth it if this is going in a space where you could hear it. If it's going in an otherwise empty area like basement then I'd get the 3 and save the money.

This is the first day after the $100 store credit offer expired (40k treats points), but they've also cut back cash back sites from ~20% yesterday to ~6% today. So while this is the lowest cash price you can get, it's not quite the best deal... though who knows if they'll ever bring the treats offer back.

Note that if you use Paypal, PetSmart may only refund you store credit if you decide to return this, per their T&C. They also do not offer the 90 day in home trial you'd get directly from Whisker, so a bit more of a risk if your cats don't have Litter Robot experience -- some cats refuse to use it.

Does this have any features to tell the cat to come in to use it?
We have one bad cat at home that kept peeing on my kid's blanket on his bed from time to time..now we have to keep all room closed door to keep it out...

I've heard before that litter robot only honors warranty when purchased directly from them (ie not from petsmart)
is there any truth to this? I own a litter robot myself and their warranty shipped me a brand new base when the first one was fried in a power surge
I would say no, purchased one locally and all I had to do is to provide the purchase date as start of warranty. You can also purchase the extended warranty but you have to do so over the phone... you can't do that over the internet. Extended warranty will not show on your device but they'll send you an email proving you have it. Kinda stupid but that's their process.

I'll pounce on this myself, but admittedly I was hoping to get it from Costco (they only have #3 though) just for the Costco warranty.

Thanks OP
That is what is stopping me too. I need time to make sure the cat likes it and that the product holds up.

My cat loves to kick litter out of the box. Maybe they all do? Anyway, the litter robot 3 seems better for this without the wide opening. Any experiences with this?

Bought litter robot 3 a few years ago and returned. Cats are afraid of rotation and loud noises.

Purchase this instead
https://www.amazon.com/Self-Clean...68b6c26f63
This is cheaper and better. Cats start to use it without need to train because it use the traditional scooping action and is much less noisy because no rotating action and closes it's door first then scoop

Have two of lr3, I can tell you it's great to have it if no one want to scoops. But this is definitely not the cats favorite. If I put the traditional one out, all my cats avoid using Lr.
There are also a lot of sensor fault issues and you need to maintain the machine. And one of my unit just can't connect wifi after they switched the new app.
At around 600, it's a little too much imo. But have no other better choices. If you need one, go for it.

Have had the LR4 since release. Don't recommend at this price. I think it's "worth" $350. Software is buggy, hardware is buggy, lots of product use issues (e.g., clumps stick to rubber lining and prevents clean cycles). This tech is not worth $500 yet.

My cat is older and does not like these at all. Was so excited not to have to scoop again but nope, not actually a thing for me.

Now this is a smoking deal. The LR4 is life changing and great. 👍
I got the litter 3 and it sucks, had to get it warrantied 2 times in a year and I wake up at least once a week with cat poop on the floor because it errored out while rotating and didn't flip back around for the litter to get back in.

I bought litter 3 because I read about the 4 being buggy, the 3 is no better

I had one but returned it. You still have to maintain it and clean it. The poop and urine are still there. It's not like magic or anything. It turned out to be less fuss to just use a regular old litter box for $20-$40. That's my opinion.

You definitely need to be a little handy to maintain these. On the plus side there's tons of first and third party videos on youtube covering how to fix basically anything that can go wrong -- and servicing these really isn't very hard.

Should you have to DIY service a $700 litter box machine? Arguably not. However these are such a day-to-day time saver that I gladly do it every few months when it needs something fixed that takes 15-30 minutes of my time.

There will be fewer maintenance issues if you use a high quality low-dust litter like BoxieCat Pro, but of course that litter can be more expensive.
