Upgradeable RAM nice

I didn't see it in the link but is the legion slim similar build wise as the slim 7s? All metal chassis with a MIL STD drop rate?

I have this model which i picked it up from bestbuy for $1000. But it had the base 512 SSD and 16Gb ram. Swapped the ram with 32Gb and added 2TB Samsung 990 Pro

Actually, nope. Build wise, Slim 7 is the one with an all-metal build, the Slim 5 has an Aluminum (Top) and PC-ABS (Bottom) build.
Neither of them is MIL STD certified.

When you say slim 7 and slim 5 you're talking about legion slim 7/5 right? When I stated slim 7s I meant slim 7 pros which is MIL STD cert right?

Sleek & strong

Take your creative spark on the go with the ultra-sleek and tough Lenovo Slim Pro 7 laptop. Designed for military-grade ruggedness, this device meets MIL STD 810H standards while maintaining a thin and lightweight design.

Did you swap both slots with 16 each(total 32gb)? Or just one slot with 32gb making it 40gb? I believe OS still puts both channels at same size(so here both at 8gb if one of them is 8gb) even though there are of different sizes making it not efficient.

I've owned a gaming laptop for the last 4 years, ddr-4 16gb, and never once felt the need to upgrade the ram to 32gb.

Do you really think 16gb of ddr-5 will need to be upgraded for the average user who mainly just games and doesn't use this for heavy workloads?

have it love it, did the 1000$ best buy over the holidays. put in 64 gig ram and 2x 2TB NVME sticks and loving life no issues. I will be holding on to this for a few years, sold my older Intel NUC had a 2070 max Q, the thermals couldn't hold up with BG3 but I certainly have no issues and love this machine, Of power rating I couldn't tell you. I would sugesst the bump in RAM but otherwise an excellent machine for 1000$.

Looks like both replaceable. I haven't seen any soldered in Lenovo's 16s.
