Also available is the BasX MR1
11.2 Channel Dolby Atmos® & DTS:X™ Cinema Receiver [emotiva.com] for $1400 vs regular price of $1999
These receivers have
balanced XLR outs for subwoofers, which is a plus especially when you have long cable runs to your subs. Further their
rated power per channel all driven is higher than other receivers in the market. They
also have 13 channels of external amplification

Here's couple of good videos on what's inside of them and gives you an idea on their build quality

A couple of things to consider with these receivers: Emotiva's firmware tends to be buggy which is why I stay away from their processors. In addition, these receivers use their proprietary EmoQ room correction - no Dirac or Audyssey available.
XLR connectors are only a differentiator if you
are picking up noise with an RCA connector. They don't improve sound quality.
I do own a couple of XPA gen 3 amplifiers and have been very happy with them. I use them with a Denon x4300h and x3500h as processors. Both these receivers have Audyssey XT32.

I was going based on having set this up and a 40 & 50.
The editor app adds significant versatility to XT32, worth its weight in gold imo.
Another thing you get with 40/50, directional integration, which is based on the same theory behind DLBC/Trinnov.
It also gives you the option to both Dirac RCs in case you're not content with Audyssey which is comparable(if you know what you're doing).
I would say if you use any external amps there is no real difference between the 40 and the 50.
You never mentioned what speakers you were driving?
Polk lsim 705 front, 704 center , 703 sides, 702 rear, and jbls in the ceiling for atmos
It's not expensive when you take into account the 9 channel amps (80W each channel) or 11 channel on the higher end model.
With other brands in the same price range you would not be getting more than 30-50Ws when playing all channels.
Plus the quality of electric components are much better on the Emotiva, because you are not spending on gimmicks like streaming music or HDMI 2.1 etc.
Ikr and based on your impression this was a solid deal, especially if they did fix those issues!
That being the case, having experience with the Onkyo RZ50 & Pioneer 505, this would be a strong consideration over those imo.
Unfortunately I don't recall the last time they had this sale, hopefully they do it again soon for those that missed it.

I don't remember a sale on this before, but I feel strongly that the sale will pop up again in the future since a lot of people will refrain from buying quoting lack of hdmi 2.1 support. On the unreasonable downvotes, maybe you should report it to slickdeals staff. It also makes people misinterpret and misunderstand valid information posted. The intent of this forum is to be helpful to each other instead of being spiteful, just because one cannot agree with another's viewpoint.

I guess I should have added Denon's 3800 in that mix for others.
I get a chance to try the 50 within my setup again mid March.
Will get to try Dirac this time!
If it turns out as well as a friends setup, will cause a big dilemma, since I have the 3800 already!
As far as downvotes, I assume most people are intelligent enough to see right through the hypocritical opinions.
I have to learn not to have so much fun with pointing it out! 😎
