Wow, this is insane. Let me just start out by saying RAID is not a backup and you need to backup both new and refurbished drives.

$6.83 per GB may be an all-time low.
I've been using them for years and no issue
2018 model. These will definitely have 5+ years powered on. Pass.

Ultrastar HC550 (2020) and HC560 (2021) drives are worthwhile. The HC570s are too new and they dont have refurbs yet.

Grabbed one. Will replace my current parity drive with this and use the current parity drive for more storage. Thanks for posting.

Yep, as much as new drives after initial testing for both new and refurbished.

Although I just realized it's Seagate which I've only had issue with that brand over the years. Guess the warranty will save me…………..

These are going to sell out quick at this price. I should just do the same. But I'm in the middle of planning a conversion to Unraid. I guess I shouldn't think and just buy.

I have another refurb drive that I've had for about a year and I leave my server on all the time and haven't had issues with it yet.

Only have 100 bad sectors. Wish I got rh3 zero bad sectors but all good HDD will continue to come down as memory and SSD continue to start scaling upwards on the min storage default solutions

I got 2 8tb drives (main and parity) about 60% full. Cant decide if 4tb more is enough to justify buying when i dont necessarily need them. Gah!
