These might be school Chromebooks. At the end of 2022, very beginning of 2023, Lenovo had enough inventory for huge shipments of Chromebooks to US/Canada following the chip shortage. Schools gobbled up the shipments of these and a model from their Flex 5 series.

Allstate is hit or miss on how easy their warranty repair/replacement is.

VIP Outlet usually sells these for $175 - $200 w/ SSD via eBay

It appears to have an M.2 slot, however RAM is soldered.

Both are actually 14" WUXGA (1920x1200) but not 2K, according to PSREF.
I prefer the BB deal for newer and faster CPU. (and likely longer AUE support from Google). However, the eMMC will need to be swapped out for SSD to get the best performance (this may be an issue for some without such knowledge)

Yeah, love the specs of the ones above but need touch for the Android apps you can load on Chrome.

What's the realistic battery life?

Has anyone actually done the m.2 upgrade? How do you clone an emmc drive or do you just create usb install media somehow.

Can anyone confirm this model is called "Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming Chromebook 16 " and not "Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook / IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook "

Sucks they had to put chrome on this thing. Removing chrome and putting windows is not really for the average user, but their are guides.

You actually have to pay for the Audio and USB4 drivers (each).

Okay just read there are only driver for win11, NONE for 10!!! I hate 11 so that was the final deciding factor lol.
That doesn't make any sense, win10 is eol, and anyone that can manage to install windows on a chromebook can fix win11 quirks.

Hmm, this is very tempting price for a chromebook that is fully compatible to convert to a good spec'ed Windows 10/11 Pro laptop.

Installer and drivers via https://coolstar.org/chromebook/w...stall.html

Definitely would recommend to take out the junk eMMC and replace it with a M.2 SSD first though

This thing powers really slow and struggles. I'm talking you need to hold the power button 30 seconds or you need to do a hard reset for it to power on. It was unacceptable. Lenovo tried to fix it 2 times replacing the factory SSD and motherboard but that didn't help. Lastly they sent me a new replacement and still had the same problem. I finally requested a refund.

It was unfortunate because I really liked the Chromebook. It was embarrassing when I couldn't power it on during work.

You'll have to perform a full recovery which will install Chrome OS as new with Chromebook Recovery Utility
