These basics devices are huge. I don't believe these are GaN, you can get an Anker (yes for more $$) that's literally 1/4 the size with the same output.
As someone who has replaced a bunch of outlets in my '95 built home, this happens mostly from contractor grade outlets that are used during construction. These are cheaper and not made well when compared to the commercial grade outlets I switched mine out with.

If a plug isn't holding well (even at the weight of this brick) it's a hazard that needs to be addressed.
This one looks to be the real deal and not that other Belkin one. This AMZN one looks to be a rebranded GaN belkin device https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Cha...B088T4HX7F

Ugreen nexode are my favorite. Anker is still ok and it was the best 10-12 years ago but I think they overcharge for what they are now.

I like Ugreen, haven't had any problems with them either.

Compactness is a tradeoff and not necessarily a factor to chase. If size isn't as important then these larger bricks may hold up better to extended usage since the heat isn't as concentrated.

I like the chargers that have USB-C and USB-A, since we are still in a transition period that is taking forever.

I have a 2 year old Anker that has both and it is great since I still have a lot of USB-A cables, I totally don't care about the size of the charger, it is still the smallest thing I carry in my bag regardless of it being older or newer GaN.

all these smarter charging standards and technologies are great, but batteries last longer than ever before even with dumb chargers because the devices also have smart charging regardless of the charger.

even though I love my iPhones, Apple was a HUGE hinderance to the uptake of USB-C, it should have been standard at least 3-years ago.

I agree. Just got two 100W delivered yesterday from the same woot deal and they barely stay in the wall without anything plugged into it. These smaller wattage ones may be better but it's a brick for sure.

Literally the entire selling point behind GAN chargers is greater efficiency and smaller size over silicone chargers.
